Most of the sales will be made up by 4 and 6 cylinders anyway.

The new camaor offers so much more than just performance like the 4th gen did that I doubt it'll go anywhere. It's gonna be a great all around car except for the blind spot. Every car a few things you can not pick. Not Pat that the gearheads young and old will be happy with the drivetrain options and numbers being tossed around.

There are no specs listed on the side rear fender - at least on the drivers side.

Also, this car sounds different than the SS, if a 1LE I would think we would have the same LT1, maybe it's the exhaust or maybe I'm just hearing something that isn't there. Or maybe this is the LS7 brought back to life, or maybe it's the LT5 they trademarked a couple years ago.

Side note: It didn't help the 98-02 Camaro that those were years 6-10 on that same gen. That era of GM sucked and they LOST me completely as a customer for a while after my 96 Firebird. Current management appears to be product focused and aiming for the best.

They absolutely surpassed Fords wildest expectations. Just look at the fanboys responses to the numbers. But that doesn't mean Ford is losing any sleep on it. As long as they continue to move more units of the Mustang, they really won't care if the Camaro is faster. Its about business and moving units is the name of the game.

who cares about Ford?

Focus please - (no pun intended)

I'm sort of surprised about the onslaught of info coming out so quickly - Performance Specs, ZL1 pics, then ZL1 Video, then Z28 Video, all within a week.

hmmmm...they are planning a blitzkrieg to take over the world!!!!

So we've seen three cars so far at the ring. Two ZL1 or Z/28, and this 1LE.

I guess it makes sense if you're going to make the trip bring everything.

I agree, I don't think GM is going to stand by and lose out on the performance sector of the camaro. Now they amost have the plant up and running, it should not be that hard to bring the ZXX to life quickly. Most of the parts are already in house. I have a feeling GM is really stepping up the game to get the ZXX out there shortly after the Ford 350(R).

On another note, does anyone remember off hand how long it was from the time we saw the SS on the ring, to the time it was reveled?

Better performance does not promise better sales. As I've been saying all along..to the average, non enthusiast buyer..a multi thousand dollar difference matters.

Statistics, performance and raw performance enthusiasts will know exactly how the two stack up and will see the Camaro is much, m uch better out of the box. However John and Jane Public who just want a good looking V8 coupe, but aren't going to track it, or race it, or hot rod it may not be able to justify a large price gap.
Exactly what I been saying cost is what's holding me up I will not be tracking it will not be racing it at every stop light or at the track jus want a good looking sport car. Sales will be down GM made this car to track ready thinking the average buyers will want to pay the money for stuff they will never use.

I would be willing to bet money the Mustang price goes up next year. That will narrow the price argument.
