I hate to be negative here but atuo prices in general have exceeded wages for far too long. They clearly missed the mark here with this pricing level. No way should a base Camaro be over 22K period. As an example (not Camaro related) I paid 28K and change for my 2011 Silverado 5.3l LT ext cab with a fairly loaded package including the Bose system, buckets, console etc. The exact truck today is $43k employee price and that has kept me in my current truck out of sheer principle. I just can't justify the price gouging going on here. The Mustang is going to outsell the Camaro because of pricing.

Problem is they keep making longer term loans, so the auto price can go up, and the suckers can get their same payment. 84-90 month auto loans are available!

Mustang GT with the performance pack is 35.7k. Vs thus 37.3k.

Still a LOT of things standard on the 1ss that the GT PP doesn't have.

That extra 1600 for the Camaro gets you 20hp/55tq, fastest shifting 8 speed by anyone, vs an average 6 speed and 20" wheels.

Base radio screen in the Camaro is an upgrade too.

Tell me what Ford Mustang GT owner wouldn't pay 1600 for the extra power and 8 speed alone.

"Uplevel 2SS models include leather heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, interior spectrum lighting, heated steering wheel, head-up display, Bose premium audio, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert – included on the 2LT with the Convenience and Lighting Package – and more."

Ok my guess and its only a guess, is that if we find out how much this package is that might give us the 2SS pricing?

I am going to guess about $2000 more for the 2SS over the 1SS, that would be put me at my original guess from the poll sometime ago, I guessed $39,300...a $2000 difference from 1SS to 2SS would put it at $39,295. We shall see.

I willing to bet that this was what he was talking about, the rest of the pricing will probably come out when a "build you own" option is on Chevy's website, probably not for a while, maybe a month or more...hope I am wrong though.

Yes you get a lot of tech bits, but there wont be leather seats, which is going to seem like a lack of quality to the average buyer

Im still hoping to see the 2SS just under 40k, but the auto coming in at $1000-1500 more, the SS is starting to look out of my price range :/

I wonder when the 2SS price will be announced? I still think it's a good deal at $37,295

I think you just need to compare base to base. You can get a v8, 6 speed manual car.. for which price for both units? Camaro is way off on that one. Because 9 out of 10 people on this forum will not leave either car stock anyways.

(took that out, we can save that for another thread, cheers guys)

How much "extra" stuff does the base camaro have over the Mustang that helps it function more? I would think you would want to offer more product at the same price. That would blow Ford away then, GM are you listening?

I'm just glad GM is stepping it up on hp and weight, that's great to see in this segment!!
