Don't disagree, as there are plenty of folks on this site that still believe the Gen5 GT500 Mustang and Gen6 GT350 Mustangs are not built by Ford or that the 1LE is a Camaro model and not just an optional package on the SS.

Ford must have gotten its inspiration from the aftermarket Ardun head designed by Zora Duntov in 1947 to improve the Flathead He then joined GM and made history

Anyone knows who started development first? Still, it doesnt really matter. Chevy's smallblock somehow became a legend starting in 1955 still going strong(although old and new smallblocks dont have much in common)

While I'm sure my age has deluded some of my memory and therefore has forgotten some of the many shortcomings of carburetors, like their propensity to flood, require constant adjustment, susceptibility to hard starts when cold and hot, there is nothing quite like experiencing the secondaries open up at full throttle on an old Rochester four barrel.
