Turbo 4 or v8. I see no need for the 6. Either better mpg's of better performance. I'd love a t4 for a daily driver.

I don't know, it's very tempting to trade my V8 in on a Honda Civic right now.

Not.

Not.
But you could put on a fart can muffler and plug in your laptop to tune it and add lights on the bottom and stickers on the sides and windows. What could be cooler?

The ecoboost Mustang gets +70hp on just a tune. It might be an option, if the 2.0T tunes as well.

That said, I will be going for the v8.

Have a 1lt RS 5th gen now, and although I love it, I want v8 power and sound. Will be trying my best to land in one but it depends on how they will price it. May have to sacrifice the bells and whistles and opt to get a 1SS

There is a need and a want for 4 cylinder turbo engines. NO - not everyone wants one - but there IS a market out there for such a powertrain - and frankly, the market will grow as we head toward 2024. That's the law of the land and if you don't like it, let your elected officials know.

Interesting tidbit- we have some younger drivers of V6 Camaros that are 'criticized' by friends because they're driving a V6 - and it's not because it's not a V8! It's because it's not a 4 cylinder.

We must remember that there are many buyers with various wants and needs...and we need to provide that to the buyer.
CAFE standards are a fact of life. Some do gooder politician pulls a number out of their backside and makes it law. The upside is that it brings on the likes of a 707 horsepower engine that is smog legal but will be highly taxed in the long term as the price of fuel will ultimately skyrocket. So let's just assume a guy gets in on the ground floor with the 4 cylinder and learns how to double that power and still maintain the structural integrity as well as fuel economy. Long term he will be the winner here. In 2016 a 4 cylinder is already making the power of a 60's era 350 inch polluter and doing it with two and a half times better fuel economy. It is the future and like it or not the v-8 is an endangered spacies. Otherwise we would not be seeing what we are seeing. I love a large cubic inch beast but our days are numbered.

Nope. I rolled in a V6 for my first Camaro and it was great but I have moved on. I see the bigger picture of having the V6 and now 4 cylinder turbo options but they are not for me. So I voted to stay the same configuration that I have now which is V8.

Well I'm already waiting on a Corvette, so my thinking is "Why do I need another V8?"
I've looked at a handful of 4cyl turbo cars and I keep coming back to the Camaro. Only real decision is V6 or I4.

I suppose it all really depends on what options are available on each trim level

Exclamation

If every one of you reading this post took 15 minutes from your busy day to call both your U.S. Representative and BOTH your U.S. Senators and voiced your displeasure with the unrealistically aggressive CAFE standards upcoming, then we could start to wake up the process to make a CHANGE!

Because it's a recipe to hurt people's feelings.

Doing the opposite going from my turbo 4 genesis to the 8 in the SS. After selling my WS6 I just cant go on without having a rumbling 8 under the hood any longer.

After hurting your bank account, to the point where you could have just got the bigger motor and be as fast or faster and still be stock. Never mind modding the bigger motor, to where the 4 will never stand a chance. But hey if you want to spend money to think your hurting peoples feelings by all means...

Not as much as you might think. It's already speculated just a tune could put it at pretty much the same levels as the v6 model. If the blocks can handle a good amount of boost, those numbers could jump quite a bit higher. Also the I4 will be the base model. Meaning much cheaper from the factory than the v8 and weigh less. Not saying I would do this just giving reason as to why others might. And yes I do believe if it ends up working that way, there will be some but hurt people. In fact people are already upset about it.

I hear you. I just find it pathetic that anyone would get their feelings hurt by loosing to a cheaper car with mods.I remember when I first got my SS I got smoked by a heavily modddy 03 Audi S4, I wasn't upset I pulled up to the guy and gave him a thumbs up and we started laughing about it and he said he loved my car. Always going to be someone faster than you, as long as you enjoy your car that's all that matters.
