I don't know how I feel about it. The Volt and Malibu interiors look nice but does it fit the character of a Camaro? I like the gen5 interior's distinctive "look" overall and had it come with soft material on the dash, console and door panels it wouldn't have gotten the bad rap
I don't like the interiors of those two cars at all.

Looks like they are updating the 4th gen interior layouts to me.

A benz has waay nicer materials, obviously, but the camaro is a different car, for different people. If people dont like the materials of the camaro, they can go buy the malibu, or a buick, or a cadillac, etc. THATS WHY manufacturors make more than one model of car.................All i was saying is i hope general motors doesnt lose its way with what makes the camaro what it is.
Nonsense. Take a look at the Challenger and Mustang interiors. They are significantly better than the 5th gen. There is absolutely no reason to accept less quality "because it's a different car". The competition upped their game and the Camaro is behind. This is exactly why it's important for the interior in the new gen to leave behind the past. The 5th gen's interior was "good enough" at the time because the competition was no better, but "good enough" does not last. The average consumer (not people on camaro5/6) demands more than basic no frills interiors that would be at home in the 90's, plain and simple.

GM losing their way would be making a new car and not significantly improving the interior to rival the competition.

Those over-sized touch-tablet things look horrible....Good grief. If they are going to make them a standard feature, at least they could have made them an integral fit instead of looking like a bad after-thought do-it-yourself install...

Probably those retro interior dashes would have had room to do a flush install of those things...lol...

I hope the performance models of the 6th Gen Camaros don't have them...

I'm all for a modern/updated interior....but not with some awkward over-sized tablet-thing that doesn't even fit in the dash...

No one said they didn't want the technology in the new car or the modern operation of a modern car.

All a few of us said is that, aesthetically speaking, a car like a Camaro, or a Challenger, or a Mustang, or a GTO damn well better be connected somehow to the predecessors of the models' heyday.

That's why the 5th gen is so successful, why the Challenger is so successful, why the previous Mustang was so successful.
Ask they buyers of these cars what they love about it. I bet most of them say the looks and how they look (or at least have the "feel") like the original versions.

And I think the designers were absolutely spot on with the design of the 5th gen interior.
It looks like nothing else on the road. It looks and feels like "Camaro".

Sounds like the new one is going to get a generic mid 20-teens interior.

And if the manufacturers want to introduce a modern looking car, just give it a new name. That's all.

I absolutely would not favor a huge touch screen like that. In my opinion that would not fit in a modern muscle car. That's more of a sedan or sport sedan kind of interior.

I may be in the minority; but I really don't like the new Malibu interior. Having a few brand specific cues across different vehicles is okay to a certain point; but the last thing I want to do is sit in a new Camaro and say "Oh, it looks just like the Malibu." It has too much history and needs a truly unique interior that sets itself apart. I don't think GM will disappoint in that regard.

I'd bet you won't feel anything like being in a Malibu.

The question is will the enter stack be used? Steering wheel?

But look at the Volt and Malibu interiors. Even they don't look that close to each other.

Overall, it looks pretty good, but I absolutely hate the tablet style radio. What's the point of making it that awkward trapezoidal shape if the actual screen part of it is still a square?

Everyone needs to remember that the same company that gave the C7 this distinctive "Corvette" interior also designed the gen6's new gut. All GM's newest product has impressed me so I have faith they have gotten it right
