Yeah i thought the same, also i think the 60 day deadline is bullshit. Put it this way if he doesn't do it in 60 days give the guy back his 325k and sell them to someone else....or at least threaten to do that and you will get the other 325k.

How much profit do you think is left after a huge restoration like this on both cars?

For some reason I think the 60 day thing is just drama for the TV show. I bet in real life it took much longer...

I can't remember where I saw it...but I saw a post about these two cars actually perhaps NOT being #1 and #2 and that Fast & Loud played fast & loose by claiming such.

Well they looked alright what did everyone else think?

I think it said he made 240k on them in the end or something around that amount.

Found some goss on Tom getting fired: http://www.tmz.com/2014/02/17/fast-a...-cussing-boss/

Tom Smith tells TMZ ... he and co-star Jordan Butler were sacked from the Gas Monkey Garage -- the auto shop featured in the show -- after they let a fan with cystic fibrosis pose for a pic next to a Rolls-Royce owned by shop owner Richard Rawlings.

Smith claims the manager on duty flipped out and told them to "get the f*** away from the car." Now here's the big mistake ... we're told Smith yelled back, "Chill the f*** out" -- something boss men don't take kindly to. So Rawlings fired them both a few hours later.

So there was a lot of piss and vinegar in this thread about GMG getting their hands on these two rare birds. Are the haters gonna admit they were incorrect now that these cars were concours restored in a ridiculous 60 days?

Let's see how many people man up.

Obviously the picture that was posted earlier was not the finished convertible. They did a very good job on those two Firebirds, but I still think it was more than 60 days.... Hell when I was working on my el Camino it took longer than that to get some of the parts shipped...

Yeah, they had to hire someone that knew how to do a refurb like that to get those cars to that level. They didn't have that level of professionalism to pull that off on their own. Still a hater.

So what you're saying is it was unprofessional of them to bring in an expert when they knew they didn't have the knowledge or skills or the time to learn them and still complete the cars in time since they're a hot rod shop that normally never does that type of thing? Funny because that's how I'd define professionalism, knowing your strengths and weaknesses and doing what's necessary to complete the task correctly and on time. I guess it's all in your perspective.

What I'm saying is that up too the point of hiring the pro they were a bunch of hacks. Anything they did in that shop was half assed at best. Knowing you're a hack is a strength? You're still a hack.

Hopefully they learned something from the experience. I wouldn't trust RR with my car.
