The exterior of this car is practically the same as a G8 with new front and rear fascias. The door skins are virtually the same.

Chevy finally answers my prayers and they go and FUBAR it! Great. Guess we will wait for it to flop and a new body style to be released.

I am definitely not a fan of this car it looks way to conservative to even have the moniker SS even remotely attached to it!~

I highly doubt it. It took Chevy 17 years to release another RWD performance sedan and that was after the last one was a success, the 1994-1996 Impala SS. Now I always felt like the G8's demise was not its own fault, but was more a victim of unfortunate timing, so I don't like to put "flop" title on it but in instances it can be considered one. Now if this SS can't sell 5,000 units a year there won't be a new body for another 17 years...

GM's sales targets for this car isn't high. And it will be premium priced. I really want to like it. On paper it's got all the right specs RWD V8 sedan, although oddly enough no manual trans. Maybe later. On a Super Super SS....
I liked the looks of the G8 GXP better. I'm sure it will be a great but rare car.

To think GM pays big bucks to have someone come up with the names and then market them. My personal favorite was when GMC and Chevy both had Suburbans as their biggest SUV's.
GMC wanted to differentiate themselves when they started that tagline "We are Professional Grade" which they have miraculously maintained for over a decade now. That is when they started calling it the "Yukon XL".............ugh. |
