I recently named mine Kane. I've had him since July 2011 but could never decide. One day someone said my car looked like a Candy Cane and at first I was offended but then the name Cane came to mind so I switched it out to Kane and there ya go

My nieces call it "big red" since we also have a red 1990 Miata, which is therefore "little red", but my wife & I refer to it as "sunburn" like it says on the license plate.
