You are not seeing the big picture, there is no "base" SRT8, so for the price you are getting the best wheels and tires, the heavily retuned suspension, a stronger Brembo brake package than equipped on the other 2, leather, 30 gb HD, bluetooth, push button start, seats SPECIFIC to the SRT8, etc, etc, etc.

And I have yet to see an SRT-8 being sold anywhere close to MSRP brand new. And when this 6.4L comes out, you can bet that Mopar fanbois will be coming out of the woodworks to pay 60k for this car. Still, it's a beautiful car, IMO, just not worth that sort of price. At least Dodge has stepped up in the performance category, though I'm unsure if it's really to make themselves competitive, since the target audience for this car is probably not the same as the people who are debating between an SS and a 5.0.
People are already ordering them for MSRP or less, as for options the only ones are like the sunroof, Nav, and kicker sub. It comes basically fully loaded for the starting price......

Prices already announced, see prev, 42555 so it actually got a price DROP.

also, i wouldnt consider those real burnouts, they looked more like he was just cleaning off the tires a bit.

STill, good launch though im guessing 60' times in the 1.9x range.
The 60ft was 1.821

They posted the slip to the 392 run....All I have to compare to is my SRT8 with the only mod being Glass packs in place of the Resos.... all else stock. Of course the conditions and drivers were different....

Stock 392 (DA -600Ft)

425HP SRT8 (Glass pack mufflers only) (DA +1750)

a compairable Mustang GT 5.0 is over $40k and a compairable Camaro SS is $39-40k.

IDK man I have seen alot of compairable SS and GT 5.0 with stickers of $40k or more they aren't that much more of a deal. A SS or GT 5.0 is only a deal if you get a 1SS or a non Premium GT 5.0

i just feel that the str8 should be priced at 35k... i feel it should be priced to compete the that SS and 5.0L prices ranges... i have seen 2ss/rs go for 35k-37k. still a better deal IMO. and not even get me started with the 5.0L my friend just got a 5.0L for 33k with leather, and brembo PKG and better rims ...

The SRT8 is a full size muscle car, while the GT and SS are nearly sub-compacts. Drive one for a week or so, and you will see the difference. If you have only moderate needs of hauling peeps (kids) or stuff (golf clubs, ice chests, chairs), the SRT8 will fill the role of two cars, while you will need to buy a second car to haul goodies if you have a SS or GT. Of course if you have a second car already, or are single with no golf clubs, ice chests, or friends, it is kinda a moot point.....

it out performs both the mustang and the camaro, sells less vehicles and is a larger comfier car and you want it to cost the same??

MSRP for a loaded camaro and mustang is in the 40k range, thats just below the msrp for a new SRT8 Challenger that already comes fully loaded. If a car isnt good enough to hold its value and sell for msrp, we penalize the one that does hold its value???????
