Right. It sorta make sense if you think about it (considering if you just plop this in place in an otherwise stock LT1): the air still has to go through the same up-stream intake system/restriction - you're just changing the efficiency of the air getting into the cylinders inside the manifold (equalizing runners and increasing plenum volume). Plus, if you look at what GM did LT1 vs LT2, the intake cam profile is the same (even the exhaust is pretty close) and the cylinder heads didn't change.

I guess it's for exactly that reason, to try to make up for the more restrictive exhaust port? |

ive seen port jobs that just left them and smoothed them out as much as possible. may make a difference to fill and smooth but might also be more work then the gain. With anything though if you have the time and the patience why not.

Will this bolt up to the stock LT1 throttle body, and if bolting onto an otherwise stock LT1, what kind of power gains are people seeing?
Any pics of what it looks like installed? Assuming the stock engine cover would no longer work? |

nevermind the ashy larry stuff going on under there. dynos are showing ~15 whp. i have no dynos but the maf said it was moving 3-4 more lbs/min of air, that's good enough for me.

I did not. I didn't feel it was seated correctly with it so I left it off. Talked with another person who left theirs on with the LT2 because he called GPI and they recommended leaving it on. At this point I don't feel like removing the intake to try and make it fit.
