Ya the 135 is probably the least likely on the list at this point, a mixture of hating BMW reliability (otherwise I'd never leave) and it being a bit small. The rear seats are split/fold so you can get more than you'd think in there.

Everytime I see the 6G front end it grows on me more, grr. I just wish this was more of a no brainer (e.g. better visibility and bigger trunk). First world problems I guess.

For me its between a 2016 Camaro or Cadillac ATS sedan AWD, I am considering either the 2.0T and 3.6 V6 in each platform

M2 will start around 55k, so you'd be right. It's a beautiful looking machine, and based on my knowledge as a lessee of a M235i, the M2 will be stonking fast. But if the only sound comes from the speakers like on my car... sigh....

Alas, I've now scratched my small German sports coupe itch. I have a real sports car that kills it for anything to do with sporty driving, and the car has already proven to have some QC issues (couple that with so many BMW owner complaints it can't be considered anecdotal anymore) that tell me any modern BMW is not worth it for the long term. If you go this route, I highly recommend you lease, not finance/buy.

Currently cross-shopping:

Focus RS - likely to have fantastic AWD handling, great power/weight ratio, compact form factor; but not a fan of 4-door only configuration or station-wagon styling (better than the Golf R though).

MX-5 (with powered hardtop - due 2016) - great fun factor, precise handling, great design, light and agile; but is it practical enough to be my only car.

SS: wonderful engine, great grip, decent handling, some practicality, sharp looker; but potential visibility issues (tbd in test drive); insurance cost tbd
Get out of my head! (re: BMW thoughts)

I think the Focus RS looks like a sweet car, especially in that unique pale blue colour. However, are you as pissed as I am that Ford Canada is killing us on the pricing of their cars versus the US, especially versus GM or Chrysler? The RS will MSRP for 48k CDN, even though it will come with a lot more standard kit than the US version.

This.

I am also thinking used ZL1. I know it won't be any faster than the new SS, I know the interior is crap.... but it's such an amazing looking modern muscle car, and it's properly built... over-built, even. I bet these will become collectors soon enough, especially since the new ZL1 looks like to will cost a lot more.

For me, it's the 2SS, used ZL1 as above, and SRT 392 Challenger. Because big, beautiful four seat muscle car. But only if they bring back Sublime for 2017 or 2018. Too bad my wife (unbelievably) hates it.

I've driven New Mustang Auto & Manual, New C63s AMG (Crazy 90k Sticker Shock), Scat Pack Challenger, GLE 450, Porsche Cayman, Cadi ATS, and looked at multiple Audis. I'll be honest I really liked driving the Mustangs. Very nice ride. I will even mimic what all the Car Reviews say. It is a great Grand Touring Car. I want something with a little more edge though.

I have wanted a nice Camaro since I was first driving. Still drool over a 68 SS/RS 396. I am finally at my stage in Life I can somewhat purchase what I want. Barring me just hating the car when I see it in person, I think I will come home with a 1ss or 2ss with an Auto Trans early next year. Going to wait for initial rush to settle some.

Got a call from ford today offering 500 rebate plus employee pricing. Pretty fully loaded GT for 37 even was quote. Told them I'm waiting to see the SS first.

That's pretty crazy. That's what I'm going to be paying for my loaded V6.

That's for a GT Premium with Auto Transmission and Blackout package, 37300.
He thought if I waited the rebates might got to 1000-1500 from 500 so that would bring it down even more. I still like the SS, but we'll see on pricing.

I said it above that I am a huge Camaro guy, but end of year pricing just keeps getting good on the GT Premium Auto (Auto so the wifey can drive it if needed). They just keep coming off the price as I stall. It is making it really hard to not go Mustang when I know I won't be able to touch those prices for a 2SS for probably at least a year. I'm never tracking the car. It will just be a daily driver that gets driven aggressively at times.

The usual

GT PP mustang
Focus RS
Golf R
Audi S3
M235i

OR keep my current car: 2016 M3

So many cool cars out there. And these all are cars that can pull occasional track duty AND haul the kids around.

Leaning towards keeping the M3 but the performance, aggressiveness, sound, improved interior (big fan of the instrument panel compared to the stang), and upcoming performance versions make the camaro my current #2. Sweet car!

If I wanted an automatic I probably would have purchased a used 3.6 ATS already. There are some huge discounts to be had on used ATS's from my research. Absolutely loaded 3.6's for like $30-32k. 1 year old cars with ~10k miles selling for like $10,000+ less than they were purchased for.
