You can typically get away with up to 5-6mm spacers and get enough thread engagement from OEM studs for good clamp load. Just a basic rule of thumb, but you need to check your specific application. I haven't check the 6Gen Camaro yet. I need to...

I received my 20mm spacers and you need to trim the studs or else it hits the back of the wheel on the stock 5 spokes. So i'll be doing that another day when I have light.

Did you have to trim off stock bolts? (it seems to be sticking out a bit)
I want to try using stock rear wheels on front for track, and for that I would need a spacer. (was thinking about 25-30 mm just for the fronts)

Any spacer you run on the front will push it out an equal amount. Throwing on a 30mm spacer would push the wheel out 30mm and throw mud on your front windshield Whatever you throw on the front you should match and add to the back. My personal preference is to keep it between 15-20mm.

I just put 25mm Eibach spacers all around. No trimming with these style wheels.

Yeah I thought about that problem too but my other toy car has front wheel setup like Indy cars - without fenders, so little bit of mud throwing should be no problem for me.

Finally got around to ordering my Studs....
...Now to order my spacers. I am doing it the other way. Put in longer studs. I then have the option to run any Thickness spacer I want with any wheel offset I want. (with proper measurements of course). I won't be stuck with just one size spacer and one wheel.

Do the 20 inch 5 spoke wheels on Nitra10's car have deeper dimples on the back side than the OEM split spoke wheels on BradfordCamaro's car so that it is not necessary to trim the studs for the 5 spoke wheels?
New wheels would be nice but for now spacers are more in my budget. I'd like to add 25 mm Eibach or H&R spacers but I don't want to have to cut the studs. I might replace the studs with longer studs instead of cutting the stock studs. |
