This is a great list, but should be used as a guide line, yes, some things can be caused by transportation.
I totally agree with the "NO DETAILING" item, my dealer screwed up my C7 twice, I was so pissed off I told the detailer guy off, who came highly praised by the dealership. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW DEALERSHIP DETAILING EVER AGAIN. I then took it to a detail shop, and it turned out SPECTACULAR! However, if you find issues with at least half of this list, perhaps GM needs to spend more money and time in quality control before the vehicle leaves the factory. |

This list could be (and should be) split into two: Items which will prevent the car from being accepted as is (paint, dents, etc) and items which would be fixed under warranty. People seem to be a lot more motivated when they don't have your money yet.

Check fuses. Should all be seated properly.

Added.
Really thinking about splitting this into "Must check before accepting" and "Detailed checkout when home".

A few more:
My dealer added tint to the car. Looked great from the inside, but from the outside, there were a few bubbles. I caught it during the inspection and they scheduled a service department visit for me to get it fixed. I noticed the valve stem caps on the car were loose. Pretty sure if I hadn't spotted it, I would've lost a cap or 2 eventually. Phew... saved a few cents =) During detailing my car, I noticed a scratch in the rear window, 2 chips in the front bumpers, and a door ding. You can only see them in just the right light, so bring a bright flashlight. I didn't detail the car until 2 weeks after I brought it home, so who knows if it was there when I bought it or not. Still pissed, but oh well, just a car...

How about car with MRC going over 85MPH, and paint on the fender to door when opened, and the Two dimples on the drivers side of the rear bumper by the left of the license plate, there is more things too, under the hood liner there is no paint.

This is something worth adding, as noted by Glen; check that your warranty start date matches your delivery date
