The SS A10 shifts real fast right out of the box, I was impressed with it.

I see comments like this about the A8 a lot. I have a 2017 with the A8 and I can tell you the concern is valid (if you have this transmission, you'll likely experience the issue). That said, from my experience, the concerns are extremely overblown.

I had the 3X flush and TC replaced at about 20k miles. I'm now at nearly 50k miles with no issues whatsoever. My A8 is a powerhouse, buttery smooth, and a blast to drive every day.

I hardly remember the days when I had the "shudder" issue. Never think about it except when I run across one of these threads.

Low-end torque is probably marginally higher with 8 gears, vs 10, but haven't driven the A10 to compare. I suspect that shifting the A10 in Manual mode might entail a bit more "rowing" than in my car, but some folks might enjoy that more.

Bottom line: every car will have it's issues. Buy the one you want, deal with the issues when they come up (and move on), and just enjoy!

I guess Miata guys aren't real car guys... oh wait it's the most raced car in the world.

GMs New Automatics

I still wouldn't get to overly excited about GM 10-speed automatic as it is still pretty early and fairly new. As the previous owner of a 2017 Malibu premier and Chevrolet's then new 9 speed automatic transmission it too has had it problems. Such as not being able to pull away from a light or stop sign for a good 5 second delay before engaging with a hard thud. Driving home then having no reverse, and with a few thousand models 2016, 2017 and a few 18 GM wouldn't fix the cars until you had a check engine light come. There solution, for me was a complete flash and redownload for the transmission and I was one of the lucky ones because that solve my problems. For others it was new solenoid packs a transmission flush. So I'm hoping my 2019 camaro 8 speed automatic will not have any issues since GM had time to resolve them.

Worth checking when exactly your car was manufactured, if before Feb 1st, you also need this TSB and the flush with the newest fluid.

This seems to have solved the problem, at least it did for practically everyone who hadn't burnished their torque converter clutches by living with the shudder too long, and cared to report back.

8 speed automatic transmission

Well I just check the date on my car and ( yes) there it is manufacture date 02/19 . Looks like on my first oil change I will be bringing this up to the service advisers attention. Right now I have only 1400 miles

Technically, this means your car should be okay, but I'd still try to get the dealer to perform the flush, just to be on the safe side. The sooner, the better, because if you're on the previous fluid, you are potentially degrading the torque converter with every mile you drive.

The shudder does not pertain to the A10's. The reason why it lists 2019 is because there are still lower trim models that have the 8l45 transmission. Look at the top right column on the TSB, it says for 8l45 and 8l90. No mention of 10l80.
