Car has been transformed. Now I can enjoy a comfortable ride around town and to the track, where I will switch them for the stock tires, then back for the ride home, so I don’t have to here the thumping from the track marbles. Some of the tracks are a 3 hour ride for me. Would leave these on for cold or rainy weather track days, and would not hesitate to track them in the hot and dry. They passed my local test, on my favorite on ramps and traffic circles. |

One of the things that appeals to me about the SS 1LE is those fat tires front and back and the asymmetrical appearance front to back. I want to get more versatile long lasting tires, is Nitto my only choice?

Long lasting in what regards, summer only performance or all year round?
Either way, Nitto is the last tire that should be considered long lasting unless you want crap quality.

I want a tire that will give me 40k or so miles and performs well in wet, dry, and temps from 30-95.

What's the optimal wheel offset and tire size setup if you want to go with 19's and a slightly taller sidewall wall?

I also have a complete set of winter tires on some C6 Vette Grand Sport rims that I install when I'm expecting to get hit by bad weather, so I can't comment on how they'd do in a NY type of winter. Not much use for the winter tires around home, but I do go up to the NC mountains and PA on a fairly regular basis.

Most you will get is around 20k-25k miles out of a set of tires. For me I will always say the Continental DWS06 or the Michelin Pilot AS/3. Those are the two best high performance all season tires on the market. We have the DWS06 on the wifes Audi SQ5, they do great here in OKC. Even with 5k mile rotations we only got 30k miles out of them when one got damaged beyond repair and we had to get another set.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I had the wrong location. I see the Pole Positions come in the factory sizes so that is good information to know that you did OK in winter in SC with them.
