Bend over and say "AHHHH!" That sounds a "little" extreme...

unless he is a one vehicle owner and dosent plan on doing his diff service himself . the ramps will pay for them self

Unfortunately the front splitter of the SS 1LE doesn't clear these ramps. I already had them when I got my car and it clears with 2 RV leveling blocks in front or a short section of board would work. I zip tied them together and put a bolt in the front middle with hot glue to align with the rhino ramps hole to reduce the chance of them sliding forward/backwards but it is still a good idea to drive slowly especially when backing off of the ramps.

Since they are removable I can still access the front pinch welds to jack the car up while it is on the ramps which is nice. Zl1addons jack pads or something equivalent is highly recommended to prevent bending/flattening the pinch welds when using a jack on them.

I pay an average of 85-100 pre-tax.. Canadian for an oil change. No way you should be more.

12 quarts Mobil 1 ESP = $101 /12 * 10 ~ $84 for an oil change. Then add filter $5... so ~ $90 to change my own oil, with race ramps. Not cheap.

The alternative would be to buy the Costco brand.

Yea, there are a lot of good oils out there, on the cheap..I use them in my other vehicles.

I’d hate to lose the warrant on this one, so it is what it is until it’s up...

The Costco brand (Kirkland) is DEXOS Approved Gen 2. Your warranty will be fine. The manual just states that the oil should be DEXOS Approved. That’s all. But, it’s not my money so you have to do what you are comfortable with. That’s what matters the most I guess.

I’d be comfortable if Kirkland had 0-40 dexos 2 oil... I’m pretty certain they don’t and that’s required to be used in my 2019 Z.

Oh, I just realized you don't have an SS. Sorry.

"Dexos Gen 2" is NOT "Dexos 2"... Dexos "Gen 2" is actually "Dexos 1, Gen 2"... Definitely NOT 'Dexos 2"....

Yes, but the SS does not require DEXOS 2 though. The manual states DEXOS 1 Gen 2. Sorry , I guess I should have been more clear. It’s kind of confusing really.

last time i got a blackstone report it did not list whether or not the oil was dexos 2, dexos 1, dexos 1/2 or 1st generation dexos 1, second generation dexos 1 or even why my phone keeps correcting dexos to sexist.

Wow, $141.00 seems expensive yes but actually not that bad for full synthetic and I am assuming 8 quarts?

As already stated it's easy to do yourself but not for everyone. You need to know the jacking points, have jacks, jack stands, or ramps (but they are hard to drive on). And of course tools to remove the drain plug and oil filter. And you cannot over tighten the oil filter or drain plug either.

You can get the oil at Walmart or order it on line- so many brand choices available- it's preference. And I order my oil filters from Rock Auto. I buy multiple at a time and for my other cars to offset the shipping.

It is definitely cheaper to do oil changes yourself- and once you have the tools and jacks, etc. you can do oil changes forever and on any cars or trucks.
