I'm guessing that the 6th gen ss performance and handling will be comparable to the 5th gen ss 1LE... which is a good thing... i hope they offer a 1LE package for the first gen 6 model year

She sounds great and I imagine will be comparable to a 1LE.

Sounds good but too much tire squeal. I hope this is just the SS or early stages of the suspension tuning.
This looks like it could be the 1LE. There is a splitter on one of the cars. Last edited by Bhobbs; 10-02-2014 at 12:01 PM. |

If the standard 6th gen SS can match the 1LE on the track I think that would be pretty amazing, as the 1LE is so fantastic. I kind of feel that Chevy won't push the standard SS to be that good. Instead I think the 6th gen standard SS will be somewhere between the current 5th gen and on the 1LE while the new 1LE (assuming they offer another 1LE package....surely they will have some type of handling package) will perform slightly better than the 5th gen 1LE. Sorry, the 1LE was not being used as the bench mark, they had the big boy vettes there as well as a 2015 Z28
0:16 to 0:20 They are comparing them all on the same day same conditions

Tire squeal in this case means little more than that they are more street oriented tires. "Max Summer Performance" and then "insane track-day specials" like the Trofeos have fewer, wider, and softer tread blocks with shallower depths so they squeal less at same slip angles compared to less aggressive tires with more numerous, taller, harder, and narrower tread blocks.
It's the nature of the beast, and not necessarily any indication that there are handing issues to work out (but of course I'm sure they are doing exactly that in this phase... just don't use the tire squeal as the indicator of any problems). Keep the faith. The exhaust sounds great for sure.

now that sounds really good, makes you wander how much better you can get it to sound with say a Stainless works retro chambered set up might have to start a savings account for the next gen modes...LOL

I hope completely standard right out of the box SS model matches 1le performance, then have the 1le package beat that with this time being available for auto and manual.
