Love your Camaro and everything you’ve done to it. Those track pics are awesome. So much tire!

K&N Gold
After watching Engine Masters oil filter shoot out I was convinced to try out the K&N Gold filter. 10 micron filtration and 7.7 gpm flow rate. Fresh 5w50 Supercar oil and a drain and fill with Royal Purple Syncromax. Just need to fill the fuel jugs with E85 and I’m ready for next weekend at Arizona Motorsports Park.

Oil/Water cooler delete.
Of course after an oil change I developed a very minor leak with the oil/water cooler being the culprit. Something I planned on doing eventually but now moved to the front of the list is the cooler delete. We deleted this off my Focus ST time trial car and saw immediate improvement on oil temps. I’m sure it’s the same on the Camaro but it seemed to raise coolant temps instead of reducing oil temp. This is the set up I’m looking at. I’ll get a 32mm barbed coupler to replace the T fitting on the lower radiator hose and cap the water pump. If nothing else save a little front end weight and reduce complexity…. Unless I had an oil to air cooler. 🤔

I’m assuming the net of running it is still lighter since you’re pulling some hoses and coolant out too, plus it frees some some room as well, so I’m still fine with it. If you can grab the weights, that would be great as I forgot to. If I get bored this winter I’ll have my brother mill some weight saving pockets into that Hawk bracket but that’s pretty far down the priority list haha.

CCW at AMP
I didn’t realize we were driving the track CCW until the last minute. It’s not the norm.

Leaking front seal
Replaced the leaking front seal GM 12634614 and APR balancer bolt 234-2503. About a 1.5 hour job. The balancer removal tool pictured a much better option over the 3 jaw puller I’ve seen people use on YouTube. Install tool worked well getting the balancer on to the point on needing to be torqued. I didn’t need the flywheel locking tool.

Oil to Water Cooler(warmer) Delete
Replaced the T fitting with a coupler and capped off the water pump. Lines removed, cooler removed and replaced with a block off plate.

BMR Motor Mounts
Pretty straight forward install. You don’t need to remove the headers and all the work can be done from underneath. Zero weight savings, I was surprised that the factory piece was so light. Slight increase in NVH if you care about that kinda thing. Definitely feel more connected to the car. Found it interesting that the driver’s side has three bolts the attach at the block and one to the pan. The passenger side has two that attach at the block and one at the pan. The BMR piece attaches to the block at four points on both sides and nothing to the oil pan. So much more room for activities!

Catch Can
Seems to be controversial for some to install a CC but I believe they’re beneficial.
