Added some clarification to logistics. Added some clarification to a few other areas. Fixed some grammar, but likely not all.

I used your info. I found in " Tracking Rail Cars" GREAT INFO!
Question: How long do they take to unload the Rail Car? 1-2 Days? or more? Joe

Unloading usually takes place fairly quickly, but as with everything related to this process (as you have learned) nothing is written in stone.
After unloaded (4800) there will be at least one 4B00 then 4200. That last 4200 means on the truck hauler on its last lap to the dealer. It is normally two days from 4800 to 5000, sometimes more and very rarely less. Laborsmith |

Thanks for the write up! I found this to be very useful. I'm currently in nursing school and graduate in December. I plan to order my Camaro, so this forum definitely helps. I want to save up a decent down payment and really spend no more than 36k on one (so no SS for me!), and since I am a nerd, I've calculated it out with an estimated income and would have the down payment around May-June of next year. When should I start hashing out the beginnings of the car? This would be my first new car, so it's a big step for me and no one in my family has ever ordered a car.
Thanks so much for the info! Elizabeth

Since you plan to order in December, I would start in November. There is a pricing guide here as a Sticky thread in the Ordering Section of the web site. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=226 I would also check in on the order status requests and follow any parts constraints posts. You have the benefit of looking through the OFFICIAL photo threads and see what clicks with your style. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=225 Good luck. If you need help deciding, create a thread. There are a lot of people to help.

Does anyone know if GM Family discount can be taken on ordered vehicles or if they have to be out of stock?

Thanks,
So when they ordered my car as retail stock instead of retail sold it must have been an accident?

The actual advantage of retail sold is price protection as Chevy sometimes raises prices mid production model year, otherwise there is no tangible difference.
To me, there is the psychological pleasure that comes with having SRE instead of TRE on the Order sheet that is as important as the tangible. TRE or SRE, if you are eligible for the Program Price, than you can get it. Laborsmith |
