Update: Went to the strip again today to try a few things
1. My car does not like 20 PSI warm tire pressure. Ended up dropping it to 17-18 PSI Warm 2. Tried launching from Idle and from 1500 rpm / No real difference in time or consistency 3. As mentioned before fixed the Traction Control, ABS, and Power steering issue when I replaced the front tires 4. Video provided 5. Log files from HP Tuners version 4.11 6. I have no idea why the car short shifted on the 3rd run. Temperature Range: 75-80 degrees F DA Range: 2504 to 2788 Track Condition: Poorly prepped between 4:30 and 6:00PM & Re-prepped at 6:00PM (much better then) Times: 11.85 11.96 11.72 11.73

After talking to my tuner, I believe I am using a conservative tune. Not a max effort tune.
So waiting to hear from a couple of people on here about what ideas they may have regarding the tune, but given that I am still new to drag racing, thinking a conservative tune for now until I get more experienced is a wiser course of action. I'll just have to keep practicing to see if I can beat my best time of 11.677.

Drag racing note, the C7Z guy did not whip you, you actually won that race. Note how it says winner in your lane? You beat him so badly on reaction time that he did not catch up to you before the 1/4 mile. Taking the finish line with a legal reaction time in a no-breakout race like that one is a win in other words.
Found a clue on the 60s that you are getting. Looking at the log from the 3rd run, from the time the speed sensor shows movement (reads 1mph) it takes you about 3/4 of a second to put the accelerator to full throttle. IMO you were driving like you were on street tires instead of drag radials. Now, I do see in your video that the jerks at that track placed a cone to prevent you from lining up correctly in the groove, so I don't know how hard you'll ultimately be able to launch with those jerks doing that. However, I do suggest trying a harder launch and finding what you can do. |

I agree that I might be driving as if I'm on street tires still. The cone is because I am in the staging lanes for street tires, when I checked in the guy did say I can try the drag radial lanes and see if they'd let me run. I didn't want to risk upsetting anyone so I stayed in the street tire staging lanes. Far as the C7Z fair enough, but he did beat me on time by a lot lol. I don't count it as a win if I can't match or beat their time. Even if we had the same reaction time he would have pulled on me the entire length of the track without me being able to stop the gap which I fully expected and the times show that. He told me he couldn't get launch control to work right so only reason for his reaction time. Sure I crossed first but then again so did the Ford Explorer ST although he red lighted. Not even sure how I got a lower time than he did. Granted I started closing the gap in the last 1/8th which is what I took from it. I know my car usually gains the most ground in the last 1/8th.

The street tire lane (really just the non-treated part of the lane we street tire folks were coned into) at the drag strip I used to go to was also called the s**t lane, barely any prep and almost impossible to hook a RWD car beyond stock SS power levels. The well prepped lanes were good for 8-second runs, of course.
On a related note, AWD Teslas ran extremely consistent and boring quarter miles, I remember a Model 3 that ran a 11.6x every single freaking time...

Some things I see in your log.
- Throttle does not appear to open all the way until 10-15mph. Are you pedaling it from loss of traction? -Timing advance could be higher than 26.5 on E77. -Torque management is pulling 37 degrees on each shift. -Shift points seem early to me. I would want 6800 rpm even on a small cam. -Map KPA indicates your intake and/or throttle body might be a restriction @ 95kpa. I would like to see 97+. None of this is "killing" your times but you could see some gains by addressing some of this. It appears to be a good conservative tune otherwise.

2. Talking with someone now about increasing the shift points. He stated he can setup Manual mode to auto-shift with faster / shorter / more aggressive shifting while leaving the other drive modes for normal driving. I believe he's going to leave the torque management in that mode as well. From what I gather, it seems I would only use that mode for drag strip runs in particular. 3. I'm using K&N CAI, it was explained to me by my shop I'd show higher gains with a rotofab, so that may be a future upgrade. Still ironing the details out with him but have been testing different tunes over the past few days.

The tcm isn’t unlocked on this car screenshot below and it’s only pulling 10* out for the shift. Idk why it’s pulling so much.
Will only pulling 10* timing through the shift cause damage? Also looking at the log, how is your tps so high? The map is lower on the a10 than my m6 even though the motor is identical. Don’t know if that’s common. I agree with king there’s nothing terribly off, but imo it can be a tenth here and a tenth there across all these areas. I bet sorting it out with practice will get you into the 10s @ 130

What are u doing with TC for these runs? One tap on the tc button, or full off?

I've been using double tap mostly being newer to drag racing and for safety reasons.

Looks to me like someone changed the minimum spark table on that car. With a stock minimum spark table, with TR on (like it is in the stock tcm tune), during WOT shifts it drops timing into the negative values like in the log that FlukeSS had put up.

Went to the drag strip again got 3 runs in. All the shift points were raised, airflow adjusted, timing adjusted, among other things.
According to the original logs, Apparently the tune I got after rebuild was an extremely conservative tune. According to calculations of the log only 525 hp at the crank. Don't ask, I have no idea why. After retune according to log calculations 591 at the crank. Prior tune car was barely moving more air than stock. Definitely did better on gas pedal was at 100% throttle at 6mph. Also ran with TC and stabilitrak completely off. Also had some decent reaction times even though don't matter on test n tune. Edit: What I think probably happened that explains my dyno numbers: The shop that rebuilt my engine probably did a max effort tune just to see what the car could do, then gave me the conservative tune I asked for. The new tune I am using now is more or less in between 100% aggressive and 100% conservative. Or at least that is how I explained it to Justin when he was going through it. Temperature Range: 75-80 degrees F DA Range: 2500 to 2589 Tire Pressure: 17 PSI warm Track Condition: Good Retuned by: Justin L. Set new best time, best 60 ft, and best ET on the 3rd run. Each run I had was improved from the last. Now I really want that 55 degree day back with -200 to 300 DA.
