Do all Camaros have the current AFM? Does the 1LE have it? If so, I don't notice it.

It seems like just the autos have AFM, but not the manuals. LTG excluded. However, in the LT1 Vette, the 7sp manuals have the AFM activated, I believe.

Right the autos (except LTG and LT4) are the only ones with it enabled. But as I have heard, all LT1s have the hardware, which is how the C7 with manual has AFM.

Yes, Corvette's have AFM in manual models...I never really understood why Camaro doesn't take advantage of that.

Camaro can’t because the transmission mounts directly to the engine. There is no way to isolate the trans from the AFM vibrations. The Corvette uses the heavier torque tube to act as a damper.

I remember hearing that. I just wondered if that lighter tunnel resonated it worse than just a regular bell housing. But that’s likely the reason

Personally I wouldnt want AFM on the M6/M7 cars either way. I wish GM would setup the AFM as a end user option that could be turned on/off in the menu like some of the other manufactures do.
Then again I wish GM would get back to putting sportier programming in all of the transmission calibrations on their auto's as well. It is downright embarrassing how GM's auto's shift unless they are a performance vehicle. My 2016 Sierra with the A8 was horrid on the TCM calibration until I got into it and tuned it myself. The delay between up/down shifts was horrid and at times dangerous. GM's powertrain and or transmission programmers could take some real lessons from Audi on how to make a A8 shift during normal and sport modes, it would make their vehicles way more pleasurable to drive. |

That’s my understanding.
The torque converter on the autos isolates the transmission from the vibrations, which is why auto Camaros can have it.

On the A8, can you put it in manual mode to disable the AFM? On my A6 silverado, if I put it in manual mode and toggle it up to 5th gear AFM doesn't kick in. Throttle response is much better around town.
