Just want to add one testimonial from myself this past weekend. I ran 650 miles in 3 days on the Carbotech xp-12's. My last session was 1 hour of constant driving time at VIR North. I drove them fairly hard, doing most laps around 2:08-2:10 at VIR Full. Never experienced any brake fade but not sure how much life I have left in them.
I was braking at the 4 or maybe just before the 4 all weekend long. The pads felt better after maybe 2 sessions as well. I had pre bedded them on the street but it was a fairly fast process so I may not have done it correctly. 5 stops from 45-15, then 60-15, then 3 from 80-15 |

One thing to keep in mind is, xp12 doesn't last long. So check how much pads you have left, lest you could get metal on rotors and destroy the latter. cheers! |

I just ordered a set of Ferodo 3.12s from KNS to replace the 1.11s I have been running. Should be a good change with the different tires and wheels I'll be using.

Sounds like a plan, butbdo remind me: what's the advantage of the Giro over a whole Bremboni assy?

My personal preference for this car are stock Ferodos, which last me about 6 days, permit fastest groups and zero extra maintenance, nor parts for the brakes (because they dont run hot). But, a lot of folks have run all kinds of pads depending on what they like. Except when they exceed OEM designed heat management and then you gotta start switching parts, or rebuilding stuff frequently. Personal preference plays a big role. For example, I do not like high torque compounds, which have more of binary off/on feel and dont permit carrying them deep as in trail braking. But that's just me. Cheers! |

Trying the DSUNO pads at the Sebring TT. I am a huge fan of the Ferodo OEM pad.

Big fan as well! Ran DSUNOs on my C5Z track car with AP Racing Sprint kit. Liked them a lot. They do run hot though and we needed to overhaul the calipers (my Vette didnt have any aftermarket cooling). Just an fyi. I think for our cars, I'd pick 1.11 for an aggressive pad, which delivers a nice flat torque curve and is their longest lasting compound. But, thankfully I really like the stockers, incl their price Cheers!

Good to know and I appreciate the tip. I was looking at the 1.11, but Ken told me the DSUNO felt the most like OEM+ (He has a ZLE, so I listened). I was also thinking since the TT format is only 15 minute sessions vs 25, that they wouldn't get as scorching. I have a set of Ti shims...would they be worth using? I'm always wary of shims because I know that heat has to go somewhere and it winds up in the pad and rotor.
