So my car arrived at the dealer on Dec. 8th, late evening (after dark). Went back after work on the 9th to finalize paperwork and bring her home. During inspection, I noticed small scratches and scuffs on nearly every body panel. Just clear coat issues, but still disappointing. Dealer staff was confident they could take care of it with 2-4 hours of prep and buffing. While they were buffing they noticed a small dent as well, which they fixed with PDR.
I was traveling for work for the last week, so went back yesterday morning and was very happy with the dealer’s body shop’s work and brought her home on a cold, snowy morning. She’s a bit dirty as a result, but is tucked away in my garage finally. Now I just have to wait for spring! I won’t be driving much at all until I can get the top properly coated. I don’t want a bunch of salt spray getting embedded in the fabric. Long wait, but very happy with the result.

I'll be using this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It was recommended by several users/posts here on the forums. Like a lot of things there are some who feel nothing is needed, but I prefer to give it a little more protection from UV, dust, salt, etc. Kind of like wax for your paint. It will look fine either way for a few years whether you do anything or not. Wax keeps the paint looking better and prevents fading for the long haul. I expect this will be similar to wax for the top. Here is a recent thread that helped solidify the decision of which product to use for me: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599060 There is a photo in that thread of a convertible top that was coated four years ago and still beads water like a champ. Granted it's a weekend car for that members, but still impressive after four years.

4B00 Status for Me - After originally getting a mid to late December delivery date, salesman thinks that because of the trucking shortage, car will likely not be delivered till January 2022.
Hoping the car ships soon so at least I know the wait is almost over. Can't wait to get back into the drivers seat of the Camaro. |

My vehicle just got shipped today. It took mines roughly 2.5 weeks in bayed status but it possibly could’ve got shipped sooner if it wasn’t for holidays my best guess! Just hope for a sunny day to take delivery

Next up is waiting for it to get loaded onto a railcar (can take awhile, mine took 2 weeks) then rail travel to somewhere relatively close to you. Then another wait for loading on a truck for delivery to your dealer. Anything is possible, but probably figure on 3-4 weeks. To my knowledge there is no good way of tracking once it gets to this point.
