This is true. I've had stoplight, top-down conversations with the owner of a white Gen 6 LT convertible and the owner of a Mustang convertible.

Not really a compliment or remark, but some interesting body language feedback...

Parked at a duty-free outlet, a few spaces over from a nice black Porsche Cayman. All the spaces between us were empty. When I came out, the Cayman owner was fiddling around with something inside the car.

As I usually do on really hot days, I started to lower the top using my key fob. The guy stopped what he was doing and watched the top go down. Then when I got to the car, he gave me the "chin nod". He went back to what he was doing. I started the beast. The exhaust note caught his attention. He stood up and watched me all the way out of the parking lot. He didn't need to say anything.

I have people hanging out their windows appreciating the car, and mostly saying "bad ass". I get a few that say "looks like Batmans car" or "it looks like a transformer". Lol. I suppose those are compliments too.

I've actually had mechanics at the dealership tell me it is a beautiful car. Mind you my car is bone stock.

I live in a little hick mountain town where most people drive a scooter for DUIs and if they have a car at all its something early 2000s with tape holding the bumper on.

When I go to Walmart or literally anywhere, people will literally walk up to the car and take picture or drive around the car like a shark oogling it.

To me its just a Camaro SS 6th Gen, nothing special. If these people went down to Florida, my car would be the economy car compared with the vipers and corvette that are everywhere. But in the land of the blind.. the one eyed man is king.

My GF likes to ride in it, we have noticed taking off in first or second very vast it "vibrates" and she always squirms around. I have fun doing that.

Just the typical, "It's only a V6" comment

A LOT of compliments. In parking lots, while I'm driving and even had a guy follow me and pull up next to me to give me a compliment. But my RS is not stock- the Adventus black wheels and wide tires really make the car stand out and set it apart from other Camaros. It's not an SS though although with the aggressive looks a lot of people think it is.

I took off from a stop light, a little heavy on the pedal. Then got into the left turn lane. A guy gave me the "THUMBS DOWN" in a PT Cruiser, I felt real bad......For him!

I have had nothing negative said about mine, I even got a thumbs up from the driver of a 4th Gen Camaro SS owner, and the thing about it's a chick ride, well the chicks want to ride in it, and I have had to embarrass a mustang for trying to show off but other than that nothing but good comments.

I've driven the car across Belgium, France, The Netherlands and Switzerland and I only saw one other Camaro on the road, just to give you a idea how many there are.
There are people hanging out of cars, slowing down next to you, taking selfies at gas stations, taking pictures when it's parked, kids hitting each other with their bikes as they snap their neck passing them, and lots of conversations (again at gas stations) about what it is
The styling is clearly appreciated over here!

I find myself getting boxed in on the freeway by drivers who will sit on my left or right rear corners for a while, or pass, then get in front of me and slow down while looking in their rearview. It does get a bit annoying. The last car i had that happen to me in was my '94 Supra TT. Brand new, black, and with that big wing it was an attention-getter!

As long as you like it, who cares what other folks think?

Just sayin'

Personally, nobody looks at my car on the road, some people have asked me what kind of Camaro it is, and that's about it. I bought it because I liked it and because it is one of the best performance bargains you can find.
