It's not my fault people don't understand performance , instead of crying just prove me wrong . I'll be happy to listen . It takes more then 0 to 60 number and a low ball dollar amount for me to be sold . I don't think you have a clue about the amount of Corvette owners past and present that won't buy a C8 simply because to them its not a Corvette .

I won’t argue that this car is targeting a new customer base. We’ll see if they net higher.

Those that reject this car will eventually be lost as a customer regardless, as conventional combustion engine cars are inevitably going away, whether we like it or not. This chassis will support a hybrid. That’s how soon. Chevy already hinted the ca6 would be the last to have a manual and no electric assist

time will tell.in the meantime it is a bold, attractive design and should perform better than the last gen vette.

They would have no chance against a Zl1 on any road track . See if you can find a 1/4 mile time for the C8 . We have seen nothing yet as far as performance goes with the C8 , Base and Z51 are entry level cars .

I have said in the past that the C8 will do the same thing as the Gen 5 Camaro , 60% percent of gen 5 buyers were first time Camaro owners.
I can't wait to see the C8 hybrid because that will show people what a mid engine super car really is , and the tech should trickle down to future Camaros .

In case you missed that, it seems that we won't see a 7th Gen Camaro for many years

You have to remember a bolt on SS will out accelerate a ZL1.

The c8 already has a fatter power band by giving the engine the intake manifold it really needed.
Thats my point about numbers ,only one we know is the Z51 can do 0 - 60 in 3 seconds . That don't tell you anything really , i want more numbers and they should have been released . We now its been on Nurburgring but no numbers , 1000s of laps that C8 made and nothing , maybe their first crack at a mid engine chassis is a bit of an under performer.
The performance of the last C7 base and Z51 track times are on the level of the SS 1Le , maybe the Z51 has a slight edge . The ZL1 1Le w/DSSV will blow the C8 Z51 away on a road course ,won't be close at all.

I’ve seen that and don’t believe it. They need a front engined 2+2 now more than ever. However they brand it is another story, it looks like they’re ready to shake up all the branding and target audiences. Honestly if they have to call this car a corvette to make it more successful then go for it. The sales numbers on the ca6 is a shame because it’s such a good car.

You won't until November when the 1st production cars are delivered for the 1st press event.

At 3500 lbs and 495 crank, the car will do 11.7s and 121mph in the 1/4 (slightly worse than the ZL1). And that requires the Z51 package, for which you'll pay ZL1 money (or greater).

And you won't get the 3LT features that come on the ZL1 for ZL1 money. For a C8 Z51 3LT car you'll pay $85k+ or $20k more than the ZL1 for almost performance ... 3 years later.

And don't forget you can get a low miles ZL1 for low $50's today.... probably upper 40s by December.

If the 3500lb 495hp C8 z51 does a 2.8 0-60 that is going to translate into 11.0-11.2 1/4 mile times. The 3700lb 455hp 6th gen SS is 4.0 0-60 with a 12.4 1/4 mile time(motor trend). Even if both cars accelerated the same after 60mph, 2.8 is still 1.2 seconds quicker then 4.0 to 60, so the C8 would be 1.2 seconds ahead at minimum by the 1/4 mile. The C8 is likely going to be quicker then the Zl1 in the 1/4mi but the Zl1 will likely have a higher trap speed.

I didn’t see your edit. Has Chevy claimed 2.8 for the Z51?
