I'm up but not very at 'um. I have not been sleeping very well. My boss called me yesterday begging me to do a career day at her school on Friday. I guess I will do it for her but I'm not really going to try to prepare anything on this late notice. I'll just wing it. I can talk for 20 min without a speech. LOL

Off to the new school today. Hoping to hear they have my new office ready or at least that they have a time frame of when they will. It is a rainy day here. HAGD everyone.

Great pics! Beautiful scenery. Showed hubby, he use to race dirt bikes all thru the S.W. a million yrs ago. He said he loved just going for a ride, N.M. to Co. Breath taking views, wish I knew him back then, but then again, may be not....... those were his Crazy days!

Thanks!

Jerome, Cottonwood, and Sedona are popular "riding" destinations.

Corporate America Sucks!!!!! My son turns 40 on October 10th and as a birthday present, his company is laying him off on Friday and replacing him with and his fellow IT employees with temps!!!!

Why? Because they make less and don't have to pay insurance benefits. I mean they are pretty shitty now, it costs him over 300 a month for healthcare for his 5 person family.......grrrrrrrrrr this just totally pisses me off!! He is a smart kid and was doing very well at his job.

Sorry, I just needed someplace to vent out and I figured here was a sympathetic crowd.......

It's all about maximizing shareholder value. It's a shame, but the way of corporate America today.

Unfortunately, it is short-sighted and will probably backfire for the company. Been there, done that.

Sorry about your son, theragtopguy. Hopefully he will land on his feet & maybe fond even a better situation.

I had a weirdly crazy day. I was not able to use the conference room in the new school so I had no internet access all day. I just had to wing it all day & felt very scattered. I had a case opening for a new kid scheduled at the end of the day but it fell through because he had the wrong insurance that I can't take. I just had to refer them to the clinic. I could not do any of my noted but was home by 4:00 & am already finished with them, suppered & chores done. That is amazing. I would have only been home 30 min or so if I was still working in Nashville.

Tomorrow, supervision & working on my new office some more & seeing a few kids.

Sorry to hear about your sons job theragtopguy I know what he is going through as it happened to me 8 years ago. Unfortunately outsourcing in IT happens a lot of us that work in the field sooner or later. I hope he can find a comparable new job quickly.

That does stink, and so short sighted. Some of the health departments here are doing the same thing, hiring hourly people without benefits. The benefits we pay are 64% give or take, so for example, if we pay someone 50,000, we pay another 32,000 for benefits, so that costs us 82,000. It's crazy!
