For some reason mine is still at 3000 status, no TPW yet. Ordered on 4/28 Rapid Blue SS 1LE 6Spd manual. Only options are just the WickerBill and All Season matts.

Just got back from the dealership. Ordered a manual 2SS 1LE in Sharkskin Silver Metallic. No other options, as my needs are simple and the only one I really care about is the pedal kit, which can be done later.

Saw their constraint list. On constraint were 3LT and 2SS, along with Sharkskin and that new red color, which I don't remember.

I guess what I don't understand. Why come out with a new color and then not have it available? That makes no sense to me. Doing away with the car, then suffering all these constraints, then change some colors. First, why change colors on a car you no longer want to make. second, why change it to something you can't produce?

Does anybody know why the two SS is on constraint? After being built for the last couple weeks? Or does it have more to do with the changeover in two weeks. Although I don’t think anything is changed other than a Wheels

Maybe the heated and cooled seats?
or the LED lighting

Its probably a shortage of the additional electronics. They started including the heated/cooled for the month of May but the Rear park assist is still missing. 1SS1LE are not constrained, so its not the seats (despite the recaros still being 1LE only)

It'd be hilarious if it weren't also sad... one wonders if those "profit center" trucks and SUVs receive the same treatment. Rhetorical question, of course.

There's actually a very simple explanation. The new colors aren't exclusive to the Camaro or even Chevrolet models, they do however call them by different names depending on the brand, ie rapid blue is called "electric blue on the Cadillacs but they share the same 6 digit GM identification number WA632D so they are in fact the same color.
So they introduced these new colors on multiple vehicles like the Blazer and Silverado etc, but because these are new colors they initially have to gather their supply up of them and retool for them. After the first few weeks the colors will no longer be on constraint barring some crazy ingredient in the paint recipe that becomes hard to get.

It hasn't left constraint since it became constrained last year or the year before. What did happen is that in the last two months of allocations for 2022s Chevy/Gm progressively increased the allocations for the 3LT/2SS. They jumped up from like 10-15 in an allocation region in January/February to 40-60 by the last few weeks. They presumably accomplished this by removing the heated and cooled seat chips on top of the already removed rear parking assist beeper chip(s).

Now I have no actual concrete knowledge of this, but I'm assuming they did it in order to fulfill as many sold orders as possible before the model year end, because a sold order is pretty safe money for the dealership and GM. That's why so many orders got picked up right at the end.

Now that they're starting over with a new model year they might dial the allocations back again because they've got a another year of production to fulfill orders and the Camaro isn't a priority for them so they can use the chips for they're priority big sellers like the Silverado or Tahoe etc, but these last two paragraphs of mine are just speculation.

My dealer in Jacksonville called yesterday and he got an allocation for my 2SS convertible and submitted the order yesterday. What's the next step and how do I check my order status without going through chevy chat? I have my order number. If you are looking for a great dealer in or near Jacksonville, FL., I highly recommend George Moore Chevrolet. MSRP, and 1000.00 bucks down gets your order placed. Also lowest dealer fee I have found (599.00). The inventory manager calls you when he gets an allocation for your exact vehicle and submits the order that you placed with him. He said he gets allocations every Thursday.

The constraints are pretty hit or miss I feel like. It's kind of a luck of the draw and timing on when the order is picked up for production. As far as I can tell with my 2023 order (which is a 2SS 1LE), everything has been accepted and will be built. That includes heated/cooled seats and the PDR. I also don't see anything regarding the rear park assist not being included. So unless something changes on my order past 3000 status, I think I was lucky and dodged all the constraints. Hopefully they are just starting to get more chips and can build out every order without constraints soon!
