Nobody is saying it is impossible, just very hard to do anywhere legally and pretty much impossible on any road course in the US.

According the Dodge the Hellcat has a top speed of 199 MPH. According to the guys at Top Speed, the Hellcat Redeye has a top speed of 203 MPH. The CHarger Hellcat is slightly slower with a 196 MPH top speed.

2016 Hellcat going 200+ in a 2.3 mile run on track.

In the above video the ZLE hit 178 and it took 2.7 miles.

https://autowise.com/2017-chevy-cama...ing-top-speed/
ZL1 does a 202 MPH top speed in Germany.

I have no idea what track this is but you can clearly see that it IS a track. I also highly doubt that this is a stock ZL1 as this car hits 211. But I thought it was interesting.

There are some other videos but I can't tell if they are on a track so I won't post them.

Randy said the GT500 was hitting 170 consistently on the straights during the TH video. I doubt it gets unstable @ 180 if its fine @ 170 and I would never go 170 anyway as I am too chicken.

I think with more high speed testing it will prove to just be an arbitrary number, but again the Mustang has been known to be unstable at high speeds, so concern in the beginning that of why a $80K+ GT500 is limited due to it sharing the instability shown in past Mustangs, is valid.

Also, like Robby said, the previous Gen GT500 claimed to hit 200, which is AWESOME bragging rights. 760HP is enough to get there, so why would Ford not want its Halo "highest HP Mustang ever" to stretch its legs and hit 200? That's the real question, regardless of reason I just want to know why because its seems weird.

Just watched a gt500 video where he actually cut some good lights but was a little inconsistent and expressed the difficulty of dealing with the delay.

The 211mph ZL1 is from Forza 7.

Anyways, there's no road course in the US where a stock ZL1 will hit 180mph. Private or otherwise.

You may as well say you're 'racing in Mexico' like all the other roll racers.

Texas mile or any other 'top speed' event, sure. But no one participating in those is going to have video on youtube showing just the dash/speedo.

Looks like a stock ZL1 won't hit 180 in the Texas Mile:

It says Forza right in the title.

Why won't you just admit you lied about going 180+ on a road course?
it's not the worst lie in the world, but you're stretching it out and making yourself look like a silly goose.

if you haven't noticed there is not one person on here that believes you.
We are all wrong lots of times, but straight up lying is different.

IF the GT500 has high speed stability issues i could see the concern, but i highly doubt the new car is more unstable than the 2014.
I'm aware that some road course guys have an attitude about the word 'track', but I don't agree that attitude is 'particular'. I would instead say that attitude is narrow-minded. Don't mistake me for a road course hater either, as I have run cars on multiple types of tracks, including road courses.

As far as that no one should be concerned with top speed stuff, that is not true. Some of us might want to run at different tracks or venues than you do, and our desires from a car are just as valid as yours are. The attitude that you never intend to even try for it, so therefore it does not matter and we should not care about it, is, again, narrow-minded. It's one aspect of the vehicle's performance, and dismissing it totally would be like someone saying that the vehicle's handling, or stopping, or acceleration doesn't matter, just because that person doesn't intend to use one of those aspects of the car's ability. Individual not caring is one thing, and fine for them, but it does not translate to nobody else should care about it.
