I hear ya though where does it stop. I already have headers and had to tune it so my warranty is probably toasted anyways. Unless I find a really nice GM mechanic to fix it under warranty. Really headers is a small mod with just a little extra flow.
Katech is doing their best is the best I can tell you. Sourcing a failed pump to find the root cause is proving difficult as the warranty parts go back to GM for dealer credit. So they specifically have to find:

- An oil pump from a 2017-2018 Camaro ZL1
- That blew up out of warranty
- That a private shop fixed
- With a tech that didn't throw it away

Needle/Haystack

Only shop I've heard of fixing this kind of failure is Redline in Florida.

I got messaged by them. The new oil pump, gaskets, etc have been ordered.
Once the old pump is out it’s going straight to Katech.

Still pricing out everything else I wanna do while it’s in the air, but so far my main concern is the oil pump itself.

Cool, makes sense.

Mishaps suck, but they sure making mods a lot easier. Lol.

My wife backed in to my 5th gen shortly after we got it in 09 and I did the work all myself, so I got LOTS of goodies. I wanted to slap her (not really), but it all worked out. Lol

heh always aware of it, just wondering how concerned i should really be, in April I plan to go FBO and hate to see the oil pump fail and get warranty denied or something stupid.

Is your car "not stock" ? Unless it is motor work, I really wouldn't be concerned. But I understand your concern.

With all the reading I’ve done lately the 20ish PSI at hot idle is usually he first sign of pump failing. I noticed it back in December, questioned it, and well here I am now.

But, before I noticed it low I never really looked at the gauge lol

100% stock now, won’t be once it comes out for spring. Looking at possibly a TSP stage 2 cam with other mods. Trying to get to 700rwhp in April with the mods.

It is so convenient ( and innovative!) for GM to be the first car manufacturer ever to install an “oil pump failure” gauge.
