It's cool, this is basically a drag racing thread. The Pat Vs. me part is just an excuse for putting up this thread. I enjoy the heated discussions. You guys are keeping it civil. I just want to avoid having the thread closed.

I have learned alot myself with this and my 5th gen similar thread. I pick up my car Saturday. Looking forward to feeling 40 more HP at about $100 each. On the 5th gens that same 40 was about $40 each. I do envy you Mustangers with more plentiful less expensive cars and a wide array of go-fast stuff.

Looking back on all my Camaro 5th gen racing Mustang experience I would have to disagree. And the distance now is not that great. Pat's GT Auto runs fender with my M6 SS with only 265 DRs on cheap heavy wheels. The night I ran one 12.3 Pat ran several. But I see that close racing as fun and a challenge to be on my game.

My wife loves the Camaro so I asked her if she would like a SS auto for herself. She saw right through that and said "No way buster."

You are comparing his auto to your manual that you are having a hard time hooking and admittedly not driving as hard as you could

Pats 12.3 is .5 behind snowblind when he was DR only. 5+ car gapping not even close.

Half second gap also confirmed in mags. Also confirmed on fast list.

The s197 hero time was 12.3-4. Ls3 5g was 12.5. S550 is 12.4-5. 6g been 11.9.

Good point. Oh yea, the stock GT Autos or M6es are not in league with the A8 SSes. Iam just saying the stock GT autos are running better than several of the M6 SSes I have seen. And the S550 GT auto can run high 11s with a tune, CAI, and DRs, but I have not seen any GTs like that running mid 11s. I guess what I am saying is the new Camaro is not beating down on the Mustangs any worse then the Mustangs were beating down 5th gen Camaros. Just an opinion. With my stock 5th Gen LS3s I looked at many GT taillights receding into the distance and the L99s were even slower.

I guess it will take more time to figure out more about the Camaro LT1. It doesn't help there are very few around and the aftermarket is not drooling over the new Camaros as thre is not much $$ to be made. Even though I like the Mustangs I am a bigger Camaro fan.

If a stock auto GT is running with a stock manual SS, under the same conditions, it is just because the SS needs the driver mod...not because the cars are equal. Your friend Pat's car is some magical car that runs quicker than any other GT on the fast list. Yes, Acto is a great track, but his times are not the norm. I still say he has a tune, as they are easy to hide and he runs what most run with tunes. Good driver in the SS and the GT is down .3 to .6 easily...a perfect example is my friend. He has a '16 SS manual (this is the car I've mentioned I've driven) and a '15 GT auto. He has ran them both on the same day back to back (he is a good driver) and has ran a best of 12.32 in the SS and 12.78 in the GT, which has many more passes. If you wanna use fast lists it shows the same...top 5 manual SS's are all 12.2 and 12.3, top 5 auto GT's are 12.5, 12.6 and 12.7......that's car lengths.

Sorry Mr. Bold Blue type, but when ONE car runs substantially better then any other car on an established fast list, and what all my time spent at the track shows me, something is up. Common sense, and logic can tell you that. Also FYI, I've owned two Coyotes and have plenty of experience with these cars...

Also, FYI...if Pat never said he didn't have a tune when asked he is not a lier, and nobody called Mark stupid except you. I may not always agree with him, and would never call him that or insinuate that.

Pats in his 70s and doesn't bother with fast lists. And if he did. You'd still call bullsh!t. But the three guys on your stock A8 fast list that claim to trap 118+ are totally legit?? Right? Considering the other 23 guys on your list are trapping 112-114 on average. Or The fact that snowblind has drag radials, Weight reduction and negative DA to trap 117 at Atco in November???

I didn't change anything. If your not intelligent enough to know when your insulting people that I know personally. I don't know what to tell you. Go back and read your post again. Pat has a tune according to you. According to him. He is stock on drag radials running 12.2-12.3s as of last night. So he is either not being honest or drives a magical car??? Actually, he trapped 120 in the scenario you described. I believe his other passes were slightly slower, at high 119s.

I am only going by the one video I seen. But you get my point. He is not stock. He doesn't claim to be. He runs at one of the fastest tracks in the country in the fall. when DA is incredible. Yet other guys are claiming the exact same trap speeds totally stock. As his car with DRs, weight reduction, ETC. And nobody blinks an eye. Because they WANT to believe it. According to the 1LE guy. When cars are faster then known times. Something is fishy. So riddle me this? Why are those times and traps speeds totally acceptable. But Pat's isn't?
