The vinyl wrap for the hood is completed offsite.

As I understand it, the 1LE cars get the hood wrapped offsite somewhere. It must not be far from the plant, mine had 3 miles on the odometer when I picked it up

I wish the vinyl hood on 1LE was an option, I'd probably skip it.

I didn't care for it initially myself. I was quoted $200 by my detail guy to remove it and the adhesive, but once I saw it when my car came, It has grown on me. I'm sure others not familiar with Camaro options assume the hood taken of a faded black junkyard beater

They used to go offsite, but they are done at the plant now in a separate room.

Well there goes the excuse for why it takes so damn long to ship these things!

I put a deposit down July 1st for a non-CE 2SS coupe. I was losing hope as they had gotten an allocation end of July, but no riptide blue. Then when riptide blue became fully available they got a convertible allocation.

A couple weeks ago I put down a couple more deposits, one of which I was the only one in line for so I had some hope still.

Today the original dealer called and I got an allocation! I added a number of options and no constraints came up. Fingers crossed it gets accepted. My build sheet shows 2000 status so I really hope it moves to 3000 soon. I still can't believe I even got an allocation.

My 24 2SS was supposed to be built 2 weeks ago. Then it was supposed to be built next week. I got a text from a friend in Lansing that it was built today. I even got pics of it being built. Hopefully I get it soon, but I still need to clean my garage in the meantime to make room for it.

I placed an order for a ‘24 2SS 1LE manual 6 spd in black in May of this year. Order still not picked up by GM. Salesman kind of difficult to communicate with (dealership is about 250 miles away but supposedly the biggest in Texas so I thought I had a good chance at an allocation). At this point should I just go ahead and start asking for my $1000 deposit back? Sounds like the 1LE’s are done if they’re not in the process of being built already. Thanks in advance.

There is one more allocation coming up on the 19th apparently. If it isn't picked up then it isn't going to happen. The odds are not good, but unless you need the cash I'd let it ride another 2 weeks.

I would wait until October 19th. If you don’t get an allocation then, it sounds like you are out of luck. Keep an eye on the Chevy locator to see if a 2SS 1LE pops up. That’s where I found mine.

I ordered a 2023 ZLE back in November from Classic and it never got picked up. When I had to reorder for 2024 I dropped the 1LE because I was afraid I’d never get one. The order was picked up soon after and is now being delivered. For whatever reason it appears the 1LEs are few and far between. If you have an allocation you might want to consider dropping the 1LE and getting one anyway. I suspect in a couple of years all 2024s are going to be worth more than what you paid or at the very least you will almost certainly recoup your cost.
