Thanks...mailed mine 7/20, so I should be hearing something within the next few days. They must have approved something because they've already cashed the check!

Thanks bud. I wasn't happy, and did consider walking away. But they are easily correctable, the dealership was going to pay for it all, and there are far worse things it could be...so I ended up moving forward with it. I'm happy I did.

Sadly, my preferred choice of OVR9000 was invalid because you can't do 3 numbers at the end like that. That's only available for trailers. No variant was available either. So I ended up using my username.

Thanks!

And that's a bummer but BAMF is still cool plate.

Damn, thanks for the heads up. If you don't mind me asking, what milage are you all doing your first oil change at? I want to do an early first one. And what are you all putting in it? I'm planning on staying synthetic.

I'm doing mine this coming Monday. With little over 1,000 miles. Mobil 1 full synthetic with a Mobil 1 High Performance filter, M1-113 for the SS.

Thanks. I have the V6 so she is not that thirsty, but I have an Escalade EXT with a 6.2 so I am used to the issue.

I run Mobile 1 in my Caddy and in my former CTS. This will be a short change for me and still in break-in so I just did the manufacturer recommended. Once I am comfortable the rings are set and the engine is sufficiently through the break-in it will only be Mobile 1.

Next week Powerstop Z23 pads will be going on. Not sure what sort of intern/'engineer in training' would pick these dusty ass pads as best choice for stock equipment for the public . After 300 miles my wheels might as well be black, it must be fixed.

It's right up there with the mandatory run flat summer only tires. Don't get me wrong I love the car and knew all this going in, but it reminds me of buying used fourth gens over the years. I'd have to fix and throw away a lot of stuff every single time to make them useful .

I also made a pattern this week to make a cover for the defrost vents to stop that horrible fogging with the AC blasting. I'll post pics when I get the actual cover made, gathering materials right now. The way the dash is made it will probably just sit in place. Then i'll just throw it under the seat for cold weather. It'll be better than 'the rag mod' as my wife calls it .

Added LED reverse lights. Required putting in a resistor on the drivers side tail lamp assembly, but it wasn't that hard. The cell phone pics don't do it justice. Just trust me that these things are STUPID BRIGHT! And now the reverse lights aren't yellow-ish. I had also swapped out the license plate lights to LED's a while ago. Those are easy, don't require a resistor installation.

In this pic, the driver side is LED, and passenger side is the stock halogen bulb.

Watch Sledge's video about this, he shows a pretty good spot to put the resistor.

Yeah, resistor thing is annoying. I ended up using a double sided tape that can handle up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. That resistor gets REALLY freaking hot after just 30 seconds.

I made the mistake of testing the bulb twice (twice because I just really liked the way it looked ) before attaching the resistor to the body of the car. At that point, it was on for a full minute...and trying to attach it was not a pleasant experience...

Make sure you attach it before testing the bulb.

O_O

Also, I recommend having the backside of the resistor completely touching the metal body of the car. That would help bleed heat off of it the best. I took a crap ton of super detailed pics if anyone needs. I used the kit from Gen5DIY, and it's very different looking than the one they have a picture of. Also, their instructions made me more confused than anything else. But as stated, Sledgehammer70 has a great vid for another method.
