OK. Just curious why you have only 5 posts on this forum - after you sold the car.

Guess I'll be the first and say it did not work! Had latest tsb last month and shudder did not go away. ANOTHER BAND AID!!! Currently working on a final notice of repair for lemon law. A8 is pure junk.

Silverado57,
I would be happy to address the question regarding only posting 5 times and after I bailed. There was no point in posting earlier since I was experiencing the same problems as others, groaning rear end and 8 speed shudder. I just figured GM would address the issue since it was so widespread throughout their line and I would find the solution on the forum. After three years of denial, I finally confronted the realization that GM had no permanent fix but only band-aids to string us along. I mean they are not stupid. Obviously it was a design flaw that couldn't be fixed since I'm sure they know the cause of this problem by now and certainly would have corrected it to avoid legal proceedings. Even after the lawsuit was filed, NO permanent solution. If they had one they would implement it and extend the warranty on the trans like other manufacturers have done when facing similar problems. Ford,Toyota,Honda and Chrysler have all done this when they had mechanical flaws. Obviously GM doesn't have any solution that they believe will solve the problem for any extended period of time to even feel comfortable enough to offer an extended warranty. So I got out and wanted to warn others to be careful. This was not some hasty decision. After all I had a $42,000 investment in that Camaro. I gave GM all the benefit of the doubt hoping they would honestly address the problem, which obviously they haven't. Last edited by jamesliz1; 03-21-2019 at 05:06 PM. |

I thought my post was dripping with sarcasm lol, I guess not enough. Extend and pretend. Run those warranties out. I'll dump mine prior to 5yr/60K. Business tactics like these lead to admiration from the general public, now a days. |

Sorry for what might be a dumb question but I respect all of you guys that know your cars. I have a 2018 produced in February of that year. I only have 3,000 or so miles on it so far no issues. I have tried to keep up with all of these related posts. My question = Will all gen 6 A8 owners eventually experience this transmission issue? If not, Why? Why do some owners get it and some not. When I worked at VW in America the Rabbits came down the line and we put the same parts "basically" on all of the cars. I would think if one transmission was bad they would all be bad? I guess I am just confused. I bought my Hotwheels to be my last car.

I'm curious to that as well. There were ~112,000 Camaros produced between 17 and 18. Obviously not all have the A8 but seeing the number of reports doesn't seem anywhere close to that. I'm seriously hoping to never run into this issue but I'm scared I will even tho my car has to been produced yet.
I'm not sure if it's always something that WILL happen and it's just a matter of when, but I'm hoping not everyone if effected. Otherwise I'll be hopping on that lawsuit.
