4k off of the launch control limiter with a "slow" release of the clutch. Stock rear tires at 28psi, fronts at 35.
The heat and humidity has been killing us here in Ohio lately. Once it started to cool off is when I layed down that 12.38 but the track started to go away after that. It was a "no prep" night. Almost forgot to mention, a healthy 2nd gear burnout to get the heat into the tires. |

Unless you side step the clutch or quickly release the clutch it wont engage the launch control so I'm basically just using the rev limiter function without using anything else.
I actually work for GM on the dealer level and being one of the top sales people in our area I was invited to the Camaro training event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when the 16's came out. They really pulled out the stops and we road raced, drag raced and went around the oval at 175mph. I was also able to talk to a lot of the pro drovers and pick up some tips like the one above. |

His tip about using "some" of the launch control feature seems to be a good one. ...you should go quicker when it cools down too, what was your DA? |

Here's my first and best pass from last night. Went 12.28 @ 114.5. My 60fts are a lot more consistent now using Exssive's technique. For the 4 passes that I made I had a 1.931, 1.945, 1.937, and a 2.031 (let the clutch out too fast and spun) 60ft. This was all with 3/5th tank of 93 octane.
Tires used on the pass: Stock 35psi front, 27psi rear Performance Mods (if any): None Category submitted for: #1 - Stock M6 R/T............. .309 60'...............1.931 330'.............5.264 660'.............7.983 660’ mph......90.90 1000'..........10.305 1320'..........12.280 1320’ mph….114.46 Name of the track: Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk OH Date of pass: 14 Sept 2016 Weather conditions: No wind, 69*, 68% Humidity, 1520ft DA

I tried launching at 4k once but I must have let out the clutch too fast and it really spun. I want to get it down and just need more practice.. poor clutch! |

I'll give this another try but I'm not going to lower the rear psi since it won't be on a track. Seems like launching to 4k rpm and slowly letting out the clutch is key! |

It helps with consistency more than anything. I can get just as good 60fts with out the launch control, but they are few and far in between. Leaving from the same RPM helped out a ton and I was able to string together 3 decent 60's in a row before i purposely tried to push it a little harder and spun on the 4th pass. Regardless of whether you use launch control or not, you still need to ease out the clutch if you're on the stock tires.
