I think this thread is a good platform to let people know (I was a bit surprised) how nice NYC people actually are. Spent a week there recently, and didn't run into a single person worthy of their stereotype. They are very no-nonsense, but very helpful.

And yes. Cali people are probably the worst I have experienced outside of France.

sorry for your experience camaro_eddie, but when you mentioned the part of speaking up to the person that put their food on your hood, i already knew what they were going to say you should have "hit" her box off of your hood and if she complained you could have just said, "it's just food..."

some of the people here do think they are better than everybody else and there is no reason for it!!! but as someone from the previous post mentioned, not all of us are bad!

Native Californian here.
I'd like to point out that there a lot of (rude) folks here that came from somewhere else.

"Welcome to California, now go home"

(how's that for rude?)

I was at a car show in St. Louis and a participant ordered several pizzas for him and friends and when the delivery driver came to give him the pizzas, the driver set the fresh hot greasy boxes on the hood of a custom '50 mercury to collect the money. The owner of the merc just about took the head off of the driver. The driver was like "What's your problem oldman?" The owner of the merc promptly told the driver what would happen to him if he didn't take those pizzas off his F'n car! The driver actually exchanged some words with the merc owner and others at the show told the driver he better leave before someone tries to take his life. The driver still didn't know what he did wrong and left muttering something about "It's just an old POS car anyway"

I can't believe this was happening in front of me!

I once saw a car show promoter that thought it was a good idea to hand out plastic frisbees at the show with someone's advertizing on them. Everyone in the show was betting how long it would take before some bastard kid was going to hit a car with one. We were all talking about it when one of the frisbees skipped off of the roof of a Plum Crazy '70 challenger! The owner chased the kids and they ran off. We all laughed about it and were glad it wasn't our car....

I have seen so much rudeness lately that I can't take it anymore!
I just close my eyes and hope it goes away, then some dude in a car behind me honks and reminds me that it won't..........

Boston has worse people that the morons I have to deal with in the SF bay area. NY has it's share of friendly people and stereotypes. North East U.S. seems to have the MOST rude people. CA has some rude people that elevate rudeness to another level though, so it's kinda personal opinion on who has the worst people. Rhode island I think takes the cake though. Providence rhode island. Armpit of america...
