Different sizes are made in different countries, and over time I've noticed that the ones made in the US wear slightly better and are a bit less susceptible to these quality isues than the ones made in France.

I have run PS4S tires in different sizes for 7 years, with a few short interruptions of experimenting with alternatives, always gravitating back to the Michelins.

Somewhat subjectively, I absolutely love the zero bulge sidewalls on the PS4S, no other tire has replicated that so far. Ironically, the Contis are the ones that look more like the Michelin man

From my research, I have found some repeated reviews stating that Michelins have some QA/ QC issues straight from brand new. I may actually wind up going for the Conti's instead as I was pretty happy with the performance of the DWS06 that came on the car when I got it, since the ECS02's are made to be even better than those I don't see why they wouldn't be any worse than the Michelins PLUS I get 30 days to try them out and if I don't like them I can always get the Michelins instead. Gotta love Discount Tire/ Americas Tire policies. I think that may be the best route of attack here.

I may very well wind up getting the PS4's for the front again in the end. I'll give the Conti's a shot and see how they perform though.

This all makes perfect sense.

I have a 2SS non-1LE and need 315s in the rear (a whole 'nother discussion that I won't repeat here), and the Contis don't come in that size, unfortunately.

Why not just get the 325's then? You might as well as it's only slightly wider and should give you exactly what it is you are looking for performance wise.

I wouldn't extrapolate from the DW606 to the ECS02, but, the ECS02 is the winner of all the tires listed in your first post for your use case, IMO.

In my experiences with both tires on a few different cars, compared to the PS4S the ECS02 has far better wet grip, comparable-to-better dry grip (but maybe not quite as good feel), a better ride, is quieter with wear, should last a similar length of time, and are far less expensive in most sizes most of the time. Not sure if I'd expect one to last much longer than the other, but the Mich would have to last a lot longer to get the $/mile in the same neighborhood.

The earlier ECS was more comparable to the PS4S, but Conti made some massive advancements in wet grip with the ECS02. Looking forward to seeing an expansion of the PS5S from a limited number of OE sizes and specs, but they're not there, yet.

That would be nice indeed, but I'd have to buy 19" wheels to do it with the Contis.

This is the Continental ECS 02 sizing chart for 20", unfortunately they only carry weird sizes at the top of this product range

At the same time, the prices of the exact same PS4S tires have gone up by 50% in the last 4-5 years, very frustrating.

Fair enough. If the more equivalent comparison are the PS4's then I should be pretty happy with the ECS02's. I look forward to tossing them on and giving them a spin. The rears will be next because they are definitely down to the wear bars, but are wearing nice and evenly.

I'll give that a look over. Thank you for sharing that!

Ah, I wasn't sure if you were sitting on 19's or 20's. I see you're sitting on the 20's, so yeah the sizes do get weird up there, which is EXTREMELY frustrating.

I put a set of Conti EC02s on the Camaro a few weeks ago on ZLE spare rims, super happy with the grip, handling and road noise.
