Also note to the OP: I have a tuned wheel setup for winter and summer use. Because of the 35 aspect ratio rear tires I use. My rear wheel diameter overall is 28.4" Keep it below 28" and you should be fine without having to tune your wheel size. But do not think you can run 315's without consequences even at 30 aspect ratio.

But at 305/30R20 you should not need a tune.

315's are not stock tire sizes on any Camaro. Even the ZLE uses stock 325/30R19 on the rear. SS1LE's use 305/30R20's, LT1's use pizza cutters by comparison.

Like I said use that website I gave you it shows you the stock tire sizes you can scale up to safely. Anything else do your homework first before you commit. Not all tires are the same diameter despite what the width and aspect ratio tell you. It can vary based on manufacturer what the actual tire diameter will be.
i have zero issues running the 315/30/20 on my car and not sure what power your running because i also run the nitto 555 and and stock power i spin my wheels like crazy even if im already moving around 20 and floor they break loose

Nitto 555 RII or 555 G2? There's no way this drag radial doesn't hook properly at stock or thereabouts power level. Since the RII doesn't even come in the 315/30/20 size, I think you have the G2 and that's nowhere near even a PS4S.

Are those tires loaded up with tire shine? Lol.
Arpad is right, probably a g2... that r2 doesn't come 315/30 unless you're running the 315/35?

Arpad, Will a 315/35 even fit? Damn, that's 28.66...probably not?

I don't think so. It's more than an inch and a quarter taller, and even my 315/30/20s are close to the wheel well liner. (I ran 305/35/20's for a while, and that did fit, but left less than 1/16" between the liner and the tire, extremely tight.)

In terms of width, each manufacturer's sizing is slightly different, so one company's 315/35 can technically be narrower than another's, but this size bump really feels too much.

Assuming its the G2 (which seems likely), there are very good comparisons on tirerack.com - especially this one comparing UHP vs max perf summer tires: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...0#tires-tested
where tirerack does report that they found that the G2 has less traction/grip than the max performance tires (PS4S being a top example).

Wow that’s close!

I might as well ask you instead of starting a new thread. I know you’re good with wheels and tires

I planned on having some forged wheels made. 20x11 rears and wanted to run the 315/30/20 Mickey Thompson ET street s/s. Its OD is 27.8
What do you think?

They will fit and work fine.

Note that 27.8" rears will invert your rake, which is not optimal, however, we're talking very small values here. The stock configuration sets the front up at ~0.1 inches taller than the rear, while your Mickey Thompsons would raise the rear to become ~0.2 inches taller than the front, hence the inversion. I don't think you'll notice unless you're a pro... I probably wouldn't

I have 510rwhp significantly over stock.

And I do not spin at all at the drag strip

And as I said I can slam the pedal to the floor from 10-15mph as long as the outside temp is above 80 degrees F (without having to do a burnout)

Ya G2's are shit tbh.

Don't waste your money.

They are all season tires not summer tires.

Thanks! Lol.
I understand what you mean but in my case having an LT1 trim means my car came with 245 40 20 (27.7) on all 4 corners. That’s only .1 that the OCD has to worry about!
Uh oh, but wait…that’s only if I stay with front stock size

Ah you're right, the LT1 has a square setup from the factory. The extra 0.1" would be a challenge to notice even with serious OCD

G2 is also $100 less per tire than PS4S and has a slightly higher tread rating, so they should last a bit longer. Considering this, I would hope the PS4S has more grip compared to G2.
