If you want the key blade in the fob cut check with hardware stores near you. Some can do the keys for our cars and they are usually cheaper than going to a locksmith. Obviously need an existing key blade for them to copy off of though.

Did these for my spares, and now all my fobs are just like what you would get from GM with the car or if you paid a dealer for replacement.

One thing to note didn't think any of the big box stores do actual key cutting, at least not near me, ended up going to a Ace Hardware to get mine cut.
Check with local locksmiths that have a storefront, too. If nothing else, you at least get more pricing options. My house has the original lockset on the front door from over 50 years ago... Odd key blank that no hardware stores offered OR could cut in their machines. Local lock shop had the blanks and I was able to get two of them, cut, for about $8.

Also, there's a company that does key fob sales and such that sets up shop outdoors at Costco from time to time... might be worth looking for them as well to see if they will cut a key they didn't sell (or how much they sell the fobs for with the key cut).

I still haven’t gotten my blanks cut yet but the parts department at the Chevy dealer said he’d do it for 10 per blank which isn’t horrible compared to the programming cost.

Hello HyperBlueX

Thank you for your procedure. It's more detailed than the one in the maintenance manual.

Great Thread

Wish they sold different color cases etc. With 4 GM cars (2 Camaros) it's tough to keep them straight sometimes

I bought a (hard plastic, snap-on) cover for my Camaro key. Fits well and stays pretty clean (it's white to match the car).

My '24 Silverado uses a different style fob that is super easy to accidentally press buttons on while it's in your pocket. I tried a silicone case for it to try and correct this, but the case showed every fleck of dust / lint and did nothing to help the issue so I just sent it back.

If you can find hard plastic ones to fit the fobs you want to make look different, give them a try as they tend to come in different colors which makes it simple to identify which is for which vehicle even if all of the fobs are exactly the same shape.
