No way should he not get paid for all of the modifications and close to retail for what he paid for the car....

Not sure who would lose $31,000 on a ZL1 unless they can't afford the car they drive and built!

That's not how it works. Mods add little value to the car and these cars are not selling for MSRP used. He asked for an opinion and I offered based on what I have seen being listed for sale on FB. Being end of season, 65k would be good price for a quick sale. 70-75k might take until next spring. I don't believe he will get 96k for it.

Couple knocks against it are:

- Convertible....not many potential buyers want a rag top.

-ZLE Aero on a Non ZLE. A lot of potential buyers don't want a "Clone".

He personalized the car to his taste and that limits sale even further.

To get maximum dollar, would be best to return to stock and sell the mods separately like many others do.

And I am not knocking the car, it looks good. Just giving my opinion based on trends I see.

Umm I was being sarcastic, I was referencing 2023 and his comment in a thread where he turned down $100k cash someone offered him for his car

Would help if I told you all the parts are GM except the tail lights!!

And that's not entirely true there are a lot of folks wishing the 1LE came in a rag top. But I do appreciate your input. but i do think $65K might be a little low and $90K would put a big smile on anyone's face. Some guys like 1/4 mile I like the twisties so i set it up that way. and when I do take this car into the twisties it handles as good as anything up there

I did the same thing as you for the functionality of the aero and didn't want the ride of the 1LE that would rattle my teeth out . All GM parts as well, installed in my garage. Everyone is building their car the way they like it which becomes difficult to sell after the fact because occasionally the buyer will use that against us as "well how do i know you didn't beat it to death, or take it to the track blah blah blah", it's just the name of the game. With your miles and how clean it is probably high 60s, the convertible does kinda bring it down some. I do know a guy that will offer $100,000 CASH though, just waiting on his details....

$70K would be a good offer for that car. I would say $65K but since its a convertible its worth a little more. However, the buyer market for a convertible ZL1 is much smaller. Not many people want one.

Look up 1 of 1 Motorsports in Fort Lauderdale. He's buying ZL1's if they meet the market he is in. I actually sold my personal ZL1 to him for a very fair price. Now it was very very low miles and basically brand new. He may be in the market for a convertable.

Maybe it's just me, but 1LE and convertible are antithetical.

The convertibles don't come with the eLSD and the body rigidity isn't the same.

Hmm that's a new one, I didn't know the verts didn't come with the eLSD. Must be a space issue?

Correct, the eLSD overlaps with the top storage/mechanism.

Take this(or not) for what it's worth. I was talking with my friend who is a General Manager at my dealership. Have known him for 14+ years. Just casually talking(because I'm not ever selling) but wanted to get an idea for my ZL1 on trade in "value".
I bought the car from them in September of 2022. It's a 2023 ZL1, A10, Coupe. Only has CAI, axle-back exhaust and some cosmetic add ons(smoked LED side markers, carbon fiber bits on the inside, ZL1 add on rock gaurds and lift points, etc..nothing earth shattering.

Has 1,040 miles on it
MSRP: 72K
PAID: 68K
He said if I were to trade it "right now" as is with current mileage, they'd give me around 78k for it. Not bad i guess if I WERE looking to get rid of it, but if I DID I would go private party anyways and not trade it in.

All of this back and forth is dependent on a lot of factors. Region you're in, dealer you're dealing with, mileage, year etc.....that dealer isn't even in the ball park for where a member was offered $100,000 CASH for a bolt on example, so I'd let your friend know that and see what his thoughts are.....only half kidding.....

Anycar is worth what someone pays for it

Some of us wanted the ultimate Camaro and then you go from there, Mods even if tastefully done and best get near zero return, people want the original parts to put back on it, I know I have over 100K in mine and its worth every penny to me, other than that I would have to find a real motor head to recoup anything from the massive mods I have.

Regrets yes...have a few, but changing to another ride from this one I know I am to old for that this s my last build, been there done that for forty years drove the wheels off many an old chevy I build the small blocks on, Now its reliability and Being a show stopper matters.....

Right after the permagrin wears off, the regret ; I won't deal with , if you sell it there will be a day when you regret it. Now if it rumbled like a Cammed hot rod and commanded attention you may feel differently, because visual is just that, most people go by it not wanting to pay for the performance. Still love many of my cars i had, this is the nicest by far.

Good luck in what you decide to do, my first gen 5 was a triple black vert 11 SS, nice car the automatic was little lame, never modded I traded it in a year for a red stick with dual mode etc etc , then built it over time to a stroked 427, ran it for a decade and traded it in for what I Love and built it to what I want...as ANY CAR IS THE SUM OF ITS PARTS......... New car fevers something annoying to me, and thin k about the next gen of Camaro? will these be the best ever? White has always been the absence of color but many like it.......
