I started modding the car less than 5 months and 2000 miles on the clock into ownership.
To some degree I felt I had to because of GM's 8L90 fluid and tune shenanigan, but then I thought why not add some power, too

If you’re worried about warranty then get the ZL1. I’m fairly certain the LT1 uses the same crank, pistons, rods, bearings, etc as the L87. The only reason it’s not part of the recall is because Chevy didn’t make enough Camaros to cause a stir about them blowing up too but from what I’ve seen post covid LT1’s aren’t fairing too well.

Ha! Well, I should have added, technically all my mods are bolt on ! So, if needed (I'd never do so) I could always go back to stock I guess.

You might want to consider a newer ('20+) ZL1 and leave it completely stock. Tinker with your 496 Olds and when it causes a bit of frustration you have a nice 650 HP car to go drive for a nerve calming therapy session. I haven't modded my '15 Z/28 and I have used it in plenty of situations when my Olds has decided to throw a mechanical temper tantrum.
