Also note that with aluminum engines you are going to get .012-.013 expansion when the engine comes up to temp. So, make sure you account for that in your preload target.

That being said I believe BTR recommends .050-.100 range for preload on these lifters, so they are very forgiving which is why I posted what I did above. I don't believe you have a preload issue.
When you say you get a .012-.013 expansion from heat. Does that mean I get less preload or more preload with hot temps?

When you said you Get an avg. of .012-.013 heat expansion. Does that mean you get more preload or less preload at hot temps?

Typically it is going to mean you lose preload. But to be honest 0.065" is a perfect cold preload if you are sure that is where you are at. Your valvetrain is probably just noisy like mine.

You lose preload from expansion, but you would still be in the low 50's so it's more than likely just a noisy drivetrain due to parts selection. If you want quiet, move down to a lower lift <.600 smoother lobe cam that works with beehive springs.

I don't mind the noise, and I no longer over think it as it is really not bad. However the car has been in winter storage and I have noticed when the car sits for more then a couple days without being started the lifters bleed down and are SUPER noisy for around 5 minutes and then start to significantly quite down over the period of another 5 minutes. I assume this is from whatever lifter the cam lobe ends up stopping on when I shut it off forces it to bleed down completely.
