Not to confuse you I'm just saying I running ZL1 shafts on my SS setup and they can take some abuse but not IMO I'm building a 1/4 mile high HP car type of abuse. Should I call it "normal" abuse?

Yeah, you have to look at what DR fits on a 1LE wheel, I'm sure there are guys with it. Brakes unless you are doing road racing should be OK.

edit, I just checked and the 1LE runs the SS driveshaft so you need a real shaft, minimally that would be a ZL1 shaft, but since this a dream build, I'd get a carbon fiber or alluminum one piece shaft aftermarket and a driveshaft safety loop (required at some tracks for 10.99 and below in the 1/4 mile.

Here is what a ZL1 driveshaft looks like.

Once again for about 700 WHP and drag radials I think the ZL1 or 1LE axleshafts and differential are fine.
For 700 WHP the SS or 1LE driveshaft is hopeless and you need minimally a ZL1 shaft
For serious 1/4 mile IMO none of that stuff can take the abuse including the manual trans and that would require a complete 9" conversion and ZL1 manual transmission and an aftermarket clutch, might as well toss in aftermarket throw-out bearing, slave and slave line too. many strips require blowbell at this level of performance.

Here is the 1.5 SFI multiclutch specs:

Noted, thanks, I'll look into this

If you don't mind me asking, why the discrepancy between the front and back brakes?

Keeping this car out of the track, for now, lol.
Well the AP Racing system is designed to work with the brake bias that is built into our cars to begin with. So because of that, you dont necessarily have to replace the stock ZL1 rear brake set up (which I find to be adequate) with the matching AP Racing REAR set up.

The MAIN benefit of the AP Racing set up is that is is designed for VERY heavy track use and provides more consistent braking performance. ZL1 1LE components especially the brake piston seals fare BADLY in consistent hi temp use. Discolored calipers are just one of the effects you can visually see. I track 2-3 times a month so this is more of a benefit to me than others I am sure.

The AP Racing set up uses 1 inch thick brake pads that not only last longer but they also dissipate heat better. Essex the parent company is the main supplier for both F1 cars and NASCAR applications. For casual tack use the Zl1 1LE set up performs well but pushed to the limit and their durability is SUSPECT. Another benefit is that the AP Racing set up saves about 20 pounds of weight over the nose of the car compared to stock Zl1 set up.

The VAST majority of the wear and tear on a brake system occurrs on the FRONT of the vehicle.

Your question about the effect of SQUARE set ups on wheels and tires I addressed before but basically it will eliminate understeer AND oversteer tendancys whick hopefully results in better tire contact on the rear and front of the car as you are transitioning thru the corners.
