Hate to grave dig but, I have a couple questions for this. I know it was said that the installation was plug and play, but for the install itself did you actually have to take off any panels or do any removal of any panels or parts to get this installed?

Also, the link send takes me to a model for 2019+ camaros. Will this work for a 2017ss? If need be I can just email the company and ask.

This is the one I currently have installed. It works good and it’s integrated into your screen.
My post was asking about this one - sorry, didn't "quote", was on my phone.

What exactly is this? I don't see a camera, I see a box? My 2017 SS doesn't have any front camera,

You will have to purchase the camera separately. This is a video interface unit that allows you to connect HDMI, Front/rear cameras, etc. Pretty versatile unit. There are likely other products available that offer all-inclusive options. This one fit my vision for my audio system.

The only real disassembly you need to do is to drop the panel under the passenger side dash to get access to the radio module. You need to unplug some connectors on the module and plug in the included harness. No way around this, and this is actually the hardest part due to angels and location.

Additionally you may want to disassemble the following too, but aren't strictly needed. These are just for ease of running various wires for the camera install
  • The dash side trim on the passenger side
  • Front Bumper Fascia Center Support

Hope this helps
