Opinions?
The 3 would appear to be safer tires than the R3, which is the most dangerous tire I've owned.

i've driven bald supercar 3r's on my zl1 1le in the rain at mid ohio using wet PTM mode, I was 100% fine while AWD subarus were spinning off track.

Driver mod will always prevail in the rain. Just turn the appropriate wet traction modes on, and be careful with the throttle

News flash: 305 width tires are not great in the rain (!!)

The Supercar3's are fine in the rain as long as you're not driving like an arse. I drove home to Phoenix from Tucson after a track day and drove through a monsoon on virtually bald tires. The car did fine. It was sketchy but I just drove slow and easy.

Ok, so I am not insane from my OP, drive cool, be cool, like a bunch of little Fonzie's.

Already had them in 40°F weather and a thunderstorm. Modulate, be safe stop if you need to.

I guess my OP was more obscure than I thought.

I drove my new 2019 Zl1 home from Denver to Austin. It started snowing on the way and eventually it turn to rain. At normal speed the snow was workable. But as others have said the car tried to kill me in the rain...I crossed a spot where the water was running across the road and I ended up 2 lanes away from where I started and it was violent not your usual hydroplane. A Direct ...I am going over NOW move.

I hadn't had a chance to try it in the wet PTM modes but now I'm pretty much not forced to have to run it at highway speeds in the rain. I can opt for slower back roads but I'll keep that in mind.

The rain mode is something I honestly never think about putting the car in, I try to bring mine out 1-2 a week in sunny weather only, but the next time I'm in rain I will switch over.

Really watch your air temps, it's still be in the 30/40's overnight here (heated garage) and I had already been in it hard once this morning w/o a wiggle so I got caught by surprise when it happened. But I jumped on it WOT at 70 and it broke loose and the rear got egg shaped on me in a hurry, put me in the opposite lane when I caught it. Was in Sport/Competive mode and that was the cause, and the savior, too. It let it break loose but intervened, too.

I've had a few experiences using the 3's in the rain with varying temp and can totally agree with everyone, your right foot will keep you going straight or kissing a guardrail. As long as you are smart and safe and it isn't super heavy rain with a lot of running water you will be perfectly fine.

The Michelin Pilot 4S eliminates all these issues. It's a way better everyday tire for the street in all conditions, wet, dry,>40F.
