I think i might be leaning this way for the price then its done for years.
That's what I would do. I paid roughly the same price for PPF on the front, the headlights and the mirrors. In the long run PPF will offer you years of protection rather than just for your trip.

I always get some really sloppy detail spray and keep myfront end almost "Oily" with residue from it. I use the Zaino stuff, but there are a lot of of brands. At the hotel I take a hotel towel and wipe of the front end from all the crud that gets on it and reapply. I keep it in a double ziplock on a floor behind the driver's seat.

Other than that have fun!

I think most who plan to own a ZL1 long term and actually rack up some miles should ppf the important areas. I had a black 13 SS 1LE, 30k miles and the black showed it all. Other colors won’t show the damage and rock guards help but I would spend the $’s. Plan to only own a few years, don’t ppf. When new, my ZL1 got rock guards and $2400 in ppf. It sucks to pay but it’s almost a must have.

Thanks everyone!!

I think for a long lasting piece of mind im going to have the bumper wrapped in PPF. I figure for the little bit of extra cost and how many times ill be wanting to wrap the car in tracwrap, i think its worth spending the extra bit to get it done and over with.

The most important place for PPF is in front of the rear wheels where WhiteMale applied the painters tape.
Trust me.

In the long run you made the right decision. I've not had PPF on any of my previous vehicles. I'm glad I had it installed on my Camaro, especially given how low and wide the front is.

Enjoy your trip, it should be fun.

Leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you. Give the pebbles some time and room to settle back on to the pavement.

Not if you have side skirts and proper (wide enough) rock guards in front. Without these, indeed it only takes a few drives to get your rockers peppered with tiny chips.

I did the ZL1addons rock guards and the extreme auto ZL1 side skirts, as well as PPE. PPE is a must on these cars if you want it looking new for years to come. I drove my 22 1LE from NYC to Canada and other road trips without issue after these changes to the car. I would like to drive it to Florida one day.

Still no side skirts yet.. I have a feeling this summer i might pick them up.

Trip is coming up within a month. Lets hope the weather warms up a bit because its going to be an interesting time on the eagle F1s lol. Im sure they wont be to bad as long as i keep it normal through rain and taker easy when needed.

I would go with the extreme online ones. They are relatively cheap, fit very well, ship quick and have seemed really sturdy. I personally wouldn't attempt such a long road trip without side skirts on a 1LE. After a couple hundred miles I started noticing stone chips on my 1LE and parked it until I got rock guards, side skirts and PPE installed (only did front, I want to do the lower sides next).

I have a buddy who PPF'd his whole M2, after having it like that for a couple years and still getting chips and dings on it he realized it is a waste of money. Any damage that occurs to the paint is cheaper to fix and anything that hits your car hard enough will still cause damage through the PPF.
