So I recieved this a few weeks ago. Pulled off my rotofab and installed the factory airbox with the fosterscmod. I chose to do this in case I didn't like it. Installation took little over an hour, with trying to figure out hose routing and such. It has a giant hose that goes from intake to firewall. It's pretty beefy, maybe 1 1/4" around, but matches all other hoses in the engine bay. On install, pay attention to the barb you installed in the intake, just pull it down so its more flush when you set your tubing. You can see mine is raised at the time of the picture. Also, helps to route between two supercharger cooling lines, depending on intake and routing, of course. Once installed, you have more than an 1" of play from barb to supercharger belt. The barb slides easily, so much that I put a flashlight under it to check for leaks, there were none, and no check engine codes. They have suggestions to put a small piece of rubber glove to act as a skin over the hole that penetrates the firewall. He suggests to do that to get rid of the intake suction noise.(some people don't like it) Since it was a hard to reach area I did it before trying without it. I may put one more on there. Ok for sound, partial throttle, you can't hear a thing, full wot, the whine is much louder, they advertise 75% louder. I do have an issue with mid throttle though the sound is weird, kind of like hearing a robot speak in small echoing rm. I drove for about 500 miles last weekend with a camaro cruise. The mid throttle sound isn't audible on the highway, only at low cruising speeds and you get on it a little. I feel if you want to try this, it's definitely worth it, but I would use a test air box first, just to make sure it's your cup of tea. I'm giving it another week or so, then may throw rotofab back on with it and see how sound changes. Any questions or advice, feel free. Idk why it took so long to even hear about this thing, been out for yrs, seems to be big with the gt500s.

So we rip out the SS sound tube they don't put on the Z so we add one...seems logical lol

Too you could point that at the grill than the firewall and the sound piped outside the car

I agree, haha, I said the exact same thing on another post, the irony! Had to try it out though, as myself and many other were curious. I still have my ss sound tube as well, but doesn't look as good, with all the pieces to it and all. If you want more whine for cheap, it's the way to go.

I sure can, but I'm leaving tomorrow for up to a week. I'll try to get one uploaded. There are a couple on YouTube that are zl1's in the meantime.

Finally got around to ordering my kit.

I've done all the other things...Rotofab, and pulled the sound plate from the stock lid.

Do you have aftermarket exhaust? I just installed the MBRP axle back, and now I can't even hear the blower anymore

Same here...MBRP axle back. I can hear the whine, its just OK, as long as I'm standing on it hard with high RPM's

Installed my Foster kit today.

Nice kit nice parts and pieces, firewall plug nut is hard to get to if you have man hands. A long ratchet expension of 8-12" and a u-joint and a deep socket (10mm??) are needed but not required.

I don't think that I can hear much if any difference at all with my damaged ears and an MBRP axle back (muffler delete).

Not recommended as far as I'm concerned.

*the rubber outr cover on the tip inside the car definitely tames the "whoosh" sound of the intake. My kit cam with a self stick cover on it vice what you see above with the the blue and the zip tie. I removed that cover last night. Whine is a little better in the cabin but like I say the intake sound is pretty loud. Getting much more volume in the car but not the sounds I actually wanted.

Sorry it's been a while. Had some car issues with my girls car so she's been driving mine, lucky her. Just a quick short of the sound in 6 gear under some load, exhaust is in stealth. I'll try to get more later.
