I rented a U-Haul trailer, dragged it 150 miles to the dealership, loaded, and trailered it home. Since the trailer was returned to the same location that it was rented from, it was considered a "local" rental and there was no mileage charge. I think it cost me under $100 for the trailer rental, gas, and tolls (would be closer to $200 now with gas prices as this was a couple of years ago).

If I had to do it all over again, I would, even if I had to go further.
