This is fine and all, but can I use regular unleaded and does a CAI improve my HP? Oh and convertible, sunroof, or neither?

Should I get PDR? Which tire should I replace my F1s with? Are PS4S really that good? Will the Powerstop pads be good for track days? Will DOT3 be ok at the road course?

Mobil has already certified the European 0W40 as Dexos 2.

And if we look at Mobil's display, it says:

"New look, same tech"

"The new advanced synthetic was originally called Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W40............Now the name is changing..........."

0W40 ESP
Attachment 1095135

0W40 SuperCar
Attachment 1095136

0W40 ESP X3 European
Attachment 1095143

Actually, the European X3 0W40 has little better viscosity #s
WHOA there Cowboy! The ONLY Dexos2 "European" formula is the "0W-40 ESP X3 European Vehicle" the old "0W-40 European Formula" is NOT Dexos2... The existing "0W-40 ESP Formula" (Now "0W-40 Super Car") is Dexos2 as well as the new "0W-20 ESP X3 European Vehicle", 0W-30 ESP X3 European Vehicle", 0-W40 ESP X3 European Vehicle" & 5W-30ESP X3 European Vehicle"... The old one is NOT Dexos2...

Yeah, that's what I referred to when I posted the technical data links.

Mobil 1` ESP X3 0W-40

I never mentioned the non Dexos2 European 0W40. At all. I didn't mention it because it was irrelevant.

"Mobil has already certified the European 0W40 as Dexos 2."

Yeah I didn't define the above statement as ESP X3 but my technical data link pretty much defined it. I fixed it for clarification Thanks

Many people do and its one of the best oils I think. However, It has A high TBN for long oil life and superior wear factors problem is when you add the soft metals and additives that are good it raises the ASH % almost 99% of the time. Soft metals are used for antiwear properties like Zinc, Cadmium, Vanadium.. and so on most of the metals and non burning organics added are what super heat and stick to your intake valves.

0-.5 LOW ASH
.5-.8 Medium ASH
.8 and grater is considered high ASH

Unfortunately high ash studies show that leads to more carbon build up. If you have a race care and rebuilding motors every 5 years just for the hell of it, spraying meth, or have port injection I'd run Amsoil if I had a stock car that I was thinking about keeping for ever even if I had a catch can to collect 95% of the oil that goes through the blower from the PCV I still be hesitant.

mobil 1 esp is .8 there better stuff like the Euro is 1.2 the TBN if I recall on ESP is less than 10 and the Euro is like 11.5 or higher where as the TBN for AMSoil is close to 13 and its ash is 1.0 greater as stated by my email.

Thank you for this valuable info, I wasn't aware of a strong correlation between sulfated ash content and the extent of valve depositing. I'll do a bit more research. My car is unlikely to ever reach a very high mileage, so valve cleaning would be an option, too.

Driven has oil specifically for DI engines that's supposed to help reduce carbon buildup.

Ugh... just when I thought I made my mind up about oil, regarding valve deposits... I guess having options is good.

Isn't the secret to valve deposits to just let it cake and **** up your intakes and then at 60,000 miles when the warranty is up you just take it to Katech and let them pull the 1.7L shitty blower off and bore your block out to 427 and make 800+ hp NA?

Please stop recommending non-Dexos2 approved oils... if you want to run that Driven shit go ahead, but for the rest of us who still have a warranty, stick to anything that says Dexos2 and 0W-40 on the bottle.
