Not really. TireRack's unit looks different (more angular), and it has a separate wall mount rail that you can slide the ends within to adjust length at any time.

This one seems to be adjustable only after unmounting entirely from the wall, which is going to be a pain, as you have to drill into studs again, plus your adjustments will be limited to your stud spacing.

arpad is correct. My width is set by stud spacing. I went to the maximum width and into the studs with lag bolts. I mounted mine about 7 ft up on my garage wall (10 ft ceiling) and use a block & tackle (also from amazon) to hoist the wheels up and down. A slight PITA, but it's very much out of the way up there.

I wanted to do a wall mount but I just dont have the space for it on a wall or on the floor, small 2 car garage with 2 cars crammed in it, work bench and so on. I keep my summers in the man cave instead. The winters go under the deck and tarped (deck is enclosed).

Oh yeah, you're right (I just checked mine).

On older cars w smaller wheels and tires, overhead was good idea, but these wheels tires are are about 60 lbs EACH.

My solution: I stack them on bases of old office chairs. Easy to roll around. Often free on market place or your attic.

True, true... I treat this as a mini-workout, pull them suckers down and put them back up a few times They need to be rotated regularly to avoid indentations in the rubber anyway.

Your solution isn't bad at all, I just didn't want to surrender the storage space I now have under the tire rack.

This is what I got to lift them. I think it was < $20 at the time. The rope supposedly frays over time, but not a factor when you use it maybe twice per year. I put a 3/8 bolt with a hook into a ceiling joist.
through the miracle of physics, I can actually control the weight of one wheel with a single hand.

Really pains me to see those just sitting there in the rack. Makes me what to drive down an pick the up. With gas prices though, shipping would be cheaper.

It is very easy to roll around the garage if it gets in the way.

I could haul them up to CamaroFest for you, if you can wait till then and you're planning to go anyway. Think I can fit them in the Camaro if I drive solo. Hm?

I'm not sure if I'll make CamaroFest... but we could certainly touch base before it and see.
