It baffles me if a Magneson is that much better, why isn't GM contracting with them and putting a 2650 on the ZL1 and selling it as a 750HP (or even 800HP) Supercar??? If the ZL1 was $20k more than my 2SS but offered 750HP (vs 455HP) I probably would have went for it... (Even though I certainly don't need the power) but I would have felt a LOT better paying $20k for an extra 300HP... (And I really like the look of the ZL1)... It's great to see what the aftermarket can do (albeit voiding the powertrain warranty), it is a damn shame GM isn't offering this out the door... It would sell... I mean an 807HP Challenger Demon Hellcat or an 800HP 6th Gen ZL1??? No competition there... A big heavy boat with a big motor or a fighter jet with the same big motor...

I’m betting that the Toohighpsi plates will alleviate the need for the cam and let you run full e85. Now time to get it and test it. From what I understand it completely relieves the high side from being pushed that hard. BTW: I love the Borla sound too.

Eaton is huge and was able to pump out the blowers. I’m not confident that they could have done the same with Magnuson. The LT5 was amazing and I definitely feel the LT4 + 2650 closes that missing gap. Luckily the Magnuson kit is a well sorted kit for the zl1/cts-v and cheaper than if you bought it from GM that way. |

Newtech did the tuning on their dyno. Your mileage may vary on the cost of the tune. I run my car hard and do open track days so I wanted the mid throttle and tip in to be dialed in so as not to upset the car… I was willing to pay for extra time and a lot of dyno pulls to make sure it would take a beating. |
